@ Gwally: *hug* It's ok, Gwal.... we are all your friends here. Of course Thantor is just some old guy... several hundred years old, in fact. There's a good lad. We'll just take this aluminum foil hat off your head so the aliens can read your mind.... There we go. Now take your medications and then we can tuck you in and read you your favorite bedtime story: "Tantra the Hard Way." :p :D

@Aqua-chan: Your post was nicely done. And the only thing to be scared about concerning Yshania is that you won't be able to find enough nice things to say about her.... :)

Actually, I wrote the language  , but I'lll still take it as a compliment.

So much love in the room and not a Viv in sight. If she were here to contribute, even I might break down into tears of joy...provided I had enough liquor in me. Where's Ysh with that Jameson. :p

@Aqua-Chan, yes, welcome to the DF ! :) You will find that we are all slightly insane, but not in the dangerous sense.... :D Well...except maybe Gwally and Thantor who like to ply unsuspecting, hapless victims with pumpkin seeds and an assortment of questionable libations... :p

Great post btw! :)

Nice post Aqua-Chan, I see you found your way.

Gwally, you should add T'laniya to that latest marathon post of yours  :p ;) to maintain continuity. In the paragraph where you outline who's headed towards the cattle/orcs and who is headed towards the drow, you left her out.

She's a pretty forgiving sort so if you edit your post quickly enough, maybe I'll remove my tattling here. I wouldn't want to ire T'l, especially if you having problems with that waikizashi of yours. :D

Me, I'll stick with the staff of the ram +7. It's all natural. Don't get any funny ideas, druid. :D  :p

Perhaps I'm a tad slow right now or my memory is failing me (again  ), but this post leaves a bit  . care to explain.

Good call, I've edited. An angry T'lainyasaurus Rex is the last thing I need. ;)

Re: Major League Baseball: It was an oblique reference to an episode of the Simpsons where Bart if given Ridilin (sp) and he realizes that the MLB satellites are designed to control people's minds. I think he wore an aluminum foil hat in that one.

So there is no confusion with the battle, there are two pairs of drow mages. That was how I always envisioned when 'scouting' them out. I'm on one pair and Ysh is dealing with a pair closer to the gang.

Hope this doesn't sound too commandeering. I only request/explain because I've already written my next two posts dealing with these two mageling pests. I wrote it all at once but decided to break it up into three posts lest it dwarf gwalchmai last post. I, for one, don't want to take center stage like that. :p

@Ned - those were my thoughts too :) Ysh is with the gang, and two mages are very close by...in my mind, Flanders is at the rear with the other two...and Gwally is beyond him chatting up bulls! :D  (I knew Gwally would finish off where Ysh' druid skills lacked foresight - she is not the best druid at the moment ;) )

Questions about the drow in our story

Are the drow in our story and those present right now followers of Lloth. I thought they were rogues. If they are rogues, should they have a female with them? I'll leave it at this and will expand more once there are some responses. thanks :)

Hope I didn't mess up too much then.
Let's just consider that one at the back got off true sight, and that there's a fifth one in the middle for death spell, if that's OK. :)

The second at the back will attempt a chain lightning then.

Does that work?

Interesting question about the Drow. Why are they there, helping to create the Abomination? As I understand it, Lloth often tries to convince her followers that she has obtained Moander's discarded powers, so the Abomination might be her avatar (as far as the Drow are concerned). But the Shadow Master may be playing on that, and the Abomination is really linked to Moander again, or maybe just the SM's warped quest for power.

Anyway, I think that the Drow think that Lloth is involved, even though she might not be. But then again, Lloth might really be involved, and niether the SM nor potentially Moander know about it....

So, yes, IMO, female Drow (clerics too) would be involved and they are not necessarily rouges (just misguided - maybe).

It still reads pretty well mysteria, my biggest question has to do with whether or not females would be present with this drow patrol. First, are the drow followers of lloth or rogues because rogue drow would have an awful difficult time getting females to break away from Lloth. They would require an extreme reason, as they are an insanely matriarchal society. 'Why leave something when you'll always be on top?' sort of question.

second, even if they are lloth followers, it is probably unlikely a female would travel amidst a lowly patrol. Females would be surrounded by top notch protection with demons and yochlols only a snap of the fingers away. Multiple females would require the demons already present on the prime material plane. And then, don't forget the mind flayers.

Now, I know I'm being nit picky but I'm just pointing out societal tendancies of a race that takes care of its ladies. If the rest of the group doesn't care, neither do I. It should be about fun anyway. Let's not bicker over who killed who :)

When I posted a while back 'scouting' out the group I mentioned 'because I didn't know these drow, it was difficult to determine if a female travelled amongst them. The patrol I found had 13 drow fighters and four to six mages. The way things have gone, it looks like four. Again, perhaps I'm being too detailed oriented and if so I'll happily accept my spanking from any female participant. :D

OK, now, I wrote in: (after doing two edits it's now final, unless something doesn't fit in)

Two mages up front, disrupted by Ysh while casting fireballs that didn't go off therefore.

Two mages in the back, one casting true sight successfully, the other one going to direct a chain lightning at Nippy and BS.

One mage in the middle, getting off a death spell, killing most of our summoned monsters.

One assassin going after the Hakeashar.

Two priestesses in the middle, one casting mass heal, the other protection from good.

One priestess commander, running round invisible, giving orders.

Various assorted warriors, some at the rear, some against the (now dead skeleton warriors), some to give Nippy and BS something to do.

@aqua chan: Nice post! :) (and check your PM)
