Shoot my map troubles
Okay, so I started out and everything was fine and dandy, but for some reason all the lables have disappeared from my map screens and I can't place any labels either. Does anyone know how to fix this, barring a full reinstall? It's not a lot of fun wandering round a big town map trying to remember where everybody's house is.

I've tried reload many times, and it doesn't make any difference. The patch doesn't seem to help either. Guess I'll just have to reinstall, although it's such a hassle 'cos I always get an error message about the cache150.txt, and I'm sure that's got something to do with it.
(Has anybody else had this message when installing? ("the file doesn't match the file in the setup program", or something like that..."the medium from which you're installing may be corrupted").
Thanks for the help anyway.

Try turning the DMA off your CD drive before installation. This will slow up the install but should eliminate the error message. Alternatively - if you have 5gigs of free space on your hard drive, copy all of your disks to a folder on your HD and run the installation from there
(you can always delete the copied CDs folder and free up the space after the installation)

To fix the "missing map label" problem, look at the top of the map screen. You'll notice two buttons, one of which has an 'N' on it. Click the left-hand button (the one without the 'N') to re-enable map labels.

Thanks folks!! I've just finished playing 4 2night after getting mysteriously splattered by Kangaxx (demi version) 5 times in a row. My Paladin makes very quick mincemeat of the first version without a scratch, but when the second incarnation is near death, the screen greys out and all of a sudden I'm history. It may be that imprisonment he casts towards the end - how can I ward against that?
Anyway, back to the map - I'll try Yshania's tip first (am I really so stupid as to have missed that - oh well, brawn ain't all), and if that fails I'll reinstall by copying everything to the HD.
Thanks again...I'm off for tips on Kangaxx (hate cheatin' but a little creative advice never hurts

Cast spell immunity with protection against Abjuration? Think it was that school, and that should nullify Imprisonmets affects. Never tried it myself, but heard it works. Took me 2.5 hours and about 15+ reloads to take down Kangaxx my 1st time and I sequenced Ice Lance with minor sequencer to get the job done with an initial 1st hit to stun him with Ring of the Ram.
