Jaheira romance & Baldurdash questions
Jaheira romance & Baldurdash questions
Hi all. Yes, yet another question about the Jaheira romance. I've reached the very end in SoA, and Terminsel doesn't appear. I read in the forums that you need to wait for five days real time, but I'm impatient and I'm about to leave for Spellhold, so I really don't want to wait. I tried the CLUA console command
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("TerminselSpawn","GLOBAL",4)
to try to make him appear, but it didn't do anything. Is there anything I can do to speed him up?
Secondly, there are a few SoA fixes I'd like to download from Baldurdash (namely, that evil people won't run away when I get a high reputation; that Viconia can romance any race (esp. my elf); and that will speed up this stupid Jaheira romance) but I have ToB installed, and there are huge warnings on the website not to install those or any other SoA tweaks and bugfixes if you have ToB installed. Is there any way to install a ToB-friendly version?
Thanks in advance,
Spathi

Download the official patch for ToB - it contains Manveru's Jaheira romance fix (though it may not be retroactive).
To get Terminsel to show, move your party to an outdoor area like Waukeen's Promenade, and ensure you're not in chapters 4, 5, or 7. Make sure the global TerminselSpawn is set to 4.
Now, enter the following at the console:
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("TerminselAppear","GLOBAL",1)
This should cause him to appear immediately.
Note: Terminsel will not appear in the Slums, Trademeet, or the Underdark exit areas.

There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...
What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

hmmm.... this is weird because i was trying to finish the romance with jaheira before going to spellhold and i was just hanging around what seemed like forever and she kept saying the same thing (when dawn comes about how the party doesnt get regular sleeping patterns or something like that). i tried all the different responses and she usually ends up saying the same thing but the romance never went past that

That is a common problem with the romance, there's a loop at around when LoveTalk equals 53, I think - this is not yet near the ending since the highest LoveTalk value is 70. Have you installed the bugfix pack from Baldurdash? Or more precisely, the Improved Jaheira Romance patch - this comes with the official ToB patch, in case you have ToB. It solves most of the romance problems.
Since you did what Sojourner suggested to Spathi - I'm assuming that you did, since you posted in this topic - it means that you have skipped a number dialogues. What you can do is make sure that you have the Improved Jaheira Romance patch - if you currently don't have it; load up a previous savegame, before you summoned Terminsel for the Harper pin. Put the mouse pointer over Jaheira and use the following code CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("LoveTalk","LOCALS",55); after this you can either wait around somemore, or use CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("JaheiraRomance","GLOBAL",1) to speed up the timer. The romance should continue to run; if nothing happens, try resting outdoor; if that still doesn't do anything, post here and I'll see what I can do.

Real vs. In-game
It's definitely not in-game days, since when I was going through it I rested for about 2 weeks to try to trigger it and nothing happened. I don't know exactly how long it is, though; I don't think it's 120 real-time hours. It's probably 5-10 real-time hours. I took a break from the main storyline to do the maze level of Watcher's Keep (ToB is installed), and when I emerged, Terminsel was waiting for me outside the keep.
