need sneak help
I've read that the best way to raise sneak is to stand in one place where the icon flashes on and off but the problem is I can't get that to happen anywhere. Can someone tell me where a good place is to do this?
Well
It's probably better if you just train it up along with other skills. One thing you can do is always jump instead of run, even if you're at zero stamina, your acrobatics skill will raise insanely fast and thus will your levels, when you level up, raise agility, which is the statistic sneak is dependant on.

I have to agree with the last poster, but to answer the question, the best place I've found to practice sneak is in a store or house where there is only one person, like the clothing store in Balmora. Make sure the person is looking away from you, then hold or weight down the sneak button and move around to determine the sweet spot - i find that about say 14-18 feet away from the person is great, maybe a little less. Don't sit behind an object because you will just stay hidden. You will see the sneak icon flash on every few seconds, then off again...what I believe is happening is that the computer is making a "sneak check" for the person, and you are in a zone where you will make the check some of the time and fail it some of the time. Every time you make it your sneak experience will rise a little. NOTE: I have not really had success with this technique when I had a very low sneak, I could not really get it to work right until my Sneak was more like high-20s.
Now, that all said I have to say it's kindof cheap to tape down a key and go get lunch, then come back and have your character gain a level.

May you walk on warrrrm sannd....
If you have the cash you can buy some skills in from trainers including sneak that have agility as a governing attribute. Each level is 1-10 each time a skill goes up the level goes up one point if you can get sneak or another skill that has agility as the governing attribute when you level up agility will have x2/x3/x4 etc. However the highest I've ever seen is x5. hope that helps.
Don't take life seriously you'll never get out of it alive.

The training to raise skills is all good for some people but doing that means you never get bonus points in that area when you level. Plus agility is low starting for just about everyone
I know everyone says to raise Endurance right away but I say more important is to raise Agility real early... yea, you can raise them both. Just equip a set of light armor when u're still level 1 and let rats hit you until u're blue in u're face and u've raised the light armor stat 10 points... don't put light armor in u're major/minor cause it increases go FAST. The big reason I say low level is cause they only hit for like 1 a piece and u'll raise u're armor skills alot from the low monsters

Usually thieve's guild types will train sneak - I know there's one in the south wall cornerclub in balmora, down in the bar on the right, a kajit.
Hydro, I had success with the method I outlined with a sneak of 30 in a misc. skill, so I don't know what to tell you - keep trying I guess.
I want to correct some misinformation about training which Tackon said above: buying training in Major or Minor skills WILL contribute to multipliers on level up. It's only training miscellaneous skills that wont help.
