High Summoner in Dragons Eye

Post by slacker2 »

Let me start by saying that I am playing in HoF mode. Now can anyone tell me how to kill the frigging high summoner. Even with the help of the people that are freed on the level, I can't get close to the summoner. He summons so many trolls and lizard men that it is immpossible to get to him and not have the party totally spent. Any help would be appreciated. :) :)

Does he summon monsters that frequently on HoF mode? What kind of party do you have?
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

I have a party of 5. Paladin level 10, fighter lvl 10, Cleric lvl 12, Theif level 13 and mage lvl 12. When i get to the room where the high summoner is, it is filled with trolls and lizard men. I would say about 6-7 trolls and 6-7 lizard men. I try to conjure fodder to keep them busy but there are just too many of them and it is really starting to irritate me.

Strange - my experience has been that the trolls and other summons don't stay there, but come after my party. Hm, have you tried webbing/greasing the area, then taking out the High Summoner with ranged weapons?

Strange indeed, this is as far as i could get with a solo character in HoF mode, after that I definitely needed some help to take out the trolls and lizards that filled the entire level.

The creature were not mend to stay with the high summoner maybe something was blocking them or the high summoner just kept pouring them and they got stuck there, he has a tenancy to summon faster in HoF mode.

If you do not what to load a previous save, then you must take out the high summoner fast so that he can stop summoning anymore creatures and patiently defeat the trolls and lizards. Sounds like you will need some oils of speed or haste spells, if you don't have a clear path to take down the HS with ranged weapons order your party to attack a single creature at the time until you have a direct eye contact with HS. You can also try and charm/confuse a few monsters and keep some area effect spells going on.
