Your favourite *moment*

Post by Quitch »

There have been lots of favourite NPCs, favourite battles and such, but what is your favourite moment. That exact second in the game when you were having more fun than at any other time.

Was it 5 minutes into the game when you realised just what you'd got on your hands?

Was it when your first Dragon fell and you felt invincible?

Was it at the end of the game, as you saw Irenicus fall for the final time?

For me, my favourite moment is during the Jaheira romance. She's telling you about a dream she had, walking along a river with you, and Khalid looks happy. You tell here it's a sign that he's happy she's with a group she likes, and she tells you it wasn't a group, just you and her....

I thought it was a touching moment, and I think it stayed with me longer than anything else in the game.

What about you?

Minsc barging in to offer his answer to the first riddle at the broken bridge in the Unseeing Eye Quest. Of course, it was wrong, and it spawned some attacking undead, but I laughed out loud. IMO, NPCs in your party should demonstrate a degree of independence to heighten the illusion of real personalities, and the more, the better.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

This wasn't just one moment, but a whole series: when I was beating the hard people in Ch. 3, I was reallyu frustrated and had to give up on a lot of them. By Ch. 6, I could see the full breadth of my power. It was a "Mwahahahahaha" sort of thing. It's great to see your party memebres turn from weaklings, whose life you fear for at every turn, into independent, powerful heroes, before whose onslaught many a foe has fallen...

Call me another Jaheira-obssessed one, but my favourite events were all the Jaheira talks -most of them, anyway- and when Galvarey tries to kill you and Jaheira stays loyal to you instead of doing as duty bades.
Haer Dalis- Ah, my raven, this be the grand city of commerce. Mayhap we can sell Jaheira?

When Minsc talks to the pirate lord is just priceless....
When logic and proportion,
Have fallen sloppy dead,
And the White Knight is talking backwards,
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the doormouse said.

One of my favourite moments occurs with Minsc right at the beginning when he figures that you deliberately angered him so that he'd break loose out of his cage. Can't remember the precise quote, but it always makes me chuckle.

Tough question... finest battle moment was probably finally defeating Irenicus...
But I think my favourite moment is when Anomen went to kill Saerk, and I finally (cos I hadn't said it up till then) told him I loved him. Aaaaah. :o

It's hard to decide, but right now what comes to mind is the final event in Ust Natha, the whole thing with the egg deception and the ritual in the temple..oh man, that is just the greatest. Made me laugh out loud...

Phaere: "VELDRIN!! I WILL FIND YOU AND EAT YOUR HEART!! I WILL --"

Imoen: "Ha! You'll do nothing but die..."

I vote for the whole Jaheira romance (I don't know if 3 months of playing could be regarded as a moment) - It is great !! It is incredible !!

Now I'm trying not to have Jaheira's romance dialogues when I test my improvements and NPCs (I try to forget about them because I want to enjoy it once again in ToB, but I cannot kick Jaheira from my party).

Another my favourite moment : When my sad PC with Jaheira's body and Bodhi's heart is going to Amaunator temple.

Dialogue with Ployer when we are going to kill him..

And other, not related with J :

Irenicus's sequences :
In spellhold : "I cannot be caged....."
In spellhold : "You have released all of my subjects ?!"
Suldennesar : "Who ?! Who dares ?!"

I like to make him angry :D :D

Mine was in BG1, when I first went off after Dynaheir in the gnoll stronghold. I walked onto some area maps and began to realize just how expansive this game really was. So much to explore! I started to drool and the rest is history. :D

A lot of good moments in BGII, but the best one is finally getting out of the Underdark, having spent days and days below water and below ground. To see the sun and hear the birds.... Magnificent!

There are many great moments in BGII: First kill of dragon, final battle, killing kangaxx, retrieving the staff of magi, meeting with shade lord (one of my favs "come then my shadows, open the portal...") My absolute best moment is when I saved that girl from riejek and she says: "Thank you, you wonderful man." That made me feel soooo good. :) :)

Insulting Anomen any chance I could was pretty cool, leading him down the wrong path was very very cool. Keeping him in the party with Aerie so he would eventually attack her and I could kill him. Love choosing the dialog to call myself a coward in the first meeting with Anomen and then going to his home in the Government district and killing him and his whole family.

I hate that guy :D
