has anyone got him to join?? the options to use are very limited

If that is the mage guy, think it says, "or kill him". so I did.
The notes in the instructions are USUALLY(hehehe) pretty specific.
Let one person live from mage guild quest who was NOT a necromancer, and the hint was that the mage guildmistress(?)
was a high class slut who resented this peaceful healer, lower class. I let her live and lied to the questgiver. When I completed the quest, she said, "I thank you, err, the Guild thanks you"...Another indicator that the quest was a personal one,
not sanctioned per se that I kill her....
I think....hehehhehhe.

Use persuasion. If your speechcraft isn't very high, choose the "bribe" option. 100 gold usually are enough for a successful bribe. Once his disposition towards you is in the 80's, he'll join.
