I'm in doubt, i think it's gonna be a thief or a cleric.
Or a combination!

Wanna try as many classes I can - depending on the vaious modules I play.
For single player I'll most likely be a fighter - maybe multiclasse into a mage/sorc. at level 5 or so :)

Will probably start off as a cleric or monk. Human most likely and then perhaps a gnome barbarian.

And forget prestige classes, there won't be any in initial release of the game. (Not that I recall seeing samurai or ninja in the core rules anyway)

I'm registered as a fighter at the BotB. But I think I'm gonna switch to a ranger.
A dwarven monk sounds fun too, something different so to speak. :)

First i'll go through SP with a classic human Paladin the dual with a cleric(if possible), then experiment with several races/classes.

I'm afraid that lack of armour is going to be realy annoying when you're low level.
But I believe that you now can even wear armour as a mage with some special abbilaty at character creation

Don't know that for sure, i find the monk only powerfull when he/she is very high level. but untill level 15 he's just a poor fighter without armour (and still using a sword cause the sword dous more damge then his fists)

For the beginning I'll play a elven sorc. Then I'll probably try a dwarven fighter/cleric. And then a halforc barbarian :)

What you have to remember when choosing a class is this:
  • There are no prestige classes on initial release. They may be released later on as a "hak-pak" or module.
  • If you dual-class a Monk or Paladin you will not be able to gain levels in the Monk or Paladin class, but your skills will remain. You only lose skills if you go against the ethos of the class.
I will be a pure human Paladin with a Greatsword... :)

Well I actually don't know if the monk can get the armour profenceis, but if using heavy armour you will not use a dex. bonus wich is what a monk thrives on due to high dex.

Oh? What's the use (cept intiative(in DnD anyway) and reflex saves) of a high dex if the ac of the armour is higher?

ELVEN RANGER!! sorry :p , but I love those guys. In the MP-game I am going to be an annoying gnome mage.

With a Monk they get bonuses for not wearing armour and some of the skills they have can only be used while wearing little armour, the point is that it is also against the ethos of a Monk to wear heavy armour.

This is quoted from POR2 manual, so i don't know how accurate will be in NWN:

Monks are proficient with all simple weapons and with all types of armour. In addition, Monks are allowed to add their Wisdom modifier and a bonus based on the level of their AC when not wearing any armour. When wearing armour, a Monk loses his AC bonus from wisdom, AC bonus for class and level, favourable multiple unarmed attacks per round and heightened movement.

Also Monk have several other special skills that are not affected by armour.
