HELP ME!!! need restore mana spell, itemmaker npc or tes directions....

Post by UserUnfriendly »

creating the ultimate cheesy superclass...

no surprise there, and i NEED the mana restore spell, or an npc who has an itemmaker with the effect, or class with spell...

or just tes contruciton kit directions for creating it...

if you choose atronach sign and breton race, you are pretty immune to magic, and with mondo mana storage....

so with a ring of mana regen, or even the spell for a while, until i get a golden saint and grand soul gem, i can walk vardenfell as a spell caster above all otehrs, and be able to really stretch spell maker to produceTOWN KILLER fireball spells...

pls help me, a lot of you guys know me from the Bg2 boards, where I am always helpful, especially where cheese is topic...

help me...pls...

User,

There is no NPC who sells Restore Mana Spells, so you cannot learn the effect to put it in an enchanted item.

However, the effect itself DOES exist in the game. It is present in two situations: Restore Mana potions and Temple Shrines. If you can lookup these two object types in the Construction Set, I'm pretty sure you can find the effect and put it directly in an enchanted item or, even better, create an NPC who sells the Restore Mana spell.

When I have time (tonight, probably), I'll try to do the same myself. If you can create an item with CONSTANT Restore Mana effect, who needs to rest? :)

Have you tried to create an item that does a magical attack upon the user? I have yet to try this but it may work. It would be pretty easy to slip a ring on and get recharged and then remove the ring (unless you like the recharge 'flares').

Nice idea, but it won't work. You can't absorb spells that YOU cast yourself. That also goes for area effect spells and spells that get reflected by your enemies.

Prime_Dweller is right, the effect is not available for purchase in the game, you have to go into the editor and activate it, then purchase the spell, then you can enchant an item with it.

Of course most people with Atronach sign simply summon a spell casting creature and absorb the energy that way.

thanks guys, this means

1) either get used to summoning ancestral ghosts and recharging, so get conjuration as major or minor skill.

2) hack into it with tes...

where are good...EASY tes directions for item creation????

say, someone should post which spells you get when you post major or minor skill one of the spell schools...next char creation.....

grin...... :D

It shows you on the last step of character generation before you finalize u're character but to save you time if you major in Conjuring you can summon the ghost and dagger right off the bat.

I made a quickie plug-in for you User.

I think you can get it by clicking here.

Download this plugin, save it in your Morrowind/Data Files directory. Then open the starting menu for Morrowind, hit 'data files', and double click the box next to 'Restore Magicka Plug-in'

Now when you start your game you will get an message that your save game was created using different data files, ignore that.

In the game, go to Masalinae the teleport girl in the Mage's Guild in Balmora. She will have a Restore Magicka spell for sale. Once you buy the spell, you will be able to create an item with a restore magicka effect yourself when you enchant stuff, or at an enchanter's if you are having them make an item.

Anyone interested in how I made the plug-in: I went into the Settings menu and chose spell effects. The effect Restore Magicka is in there already, but it is not available in the game because boxes marked 'spellmaking' and 'itemmaking' are not checked. So I checked those boxes, then I went to the spellmaking tab in the Items window and rightclicked to make a new spell. I created a Restore Magicka spell, then I went into the NPC tab in the Item Window and found one of my favorite NPCs, sweet Masalinae the Breton mage guild teleporter. In her 'spells' section are the different spells she has for sale, I dragged my new spell from the Spellmaking section onto her character sheet, and saved my changes as a new plugin.

That's great. Did you make it expensive? I would like to use that spell but to be balanced it should be really expensive both in mana and purchase price. I prefer having a spell like that in the game. it seems less cheesey than either summoning ghosts or sleeping all the time and I sure don't see many restore magika potions in the game. But it should have a high mana cost so it doesn't just keep your mana maxed all the time too.

My only problem is I don't seem to be able to get any plug-ins to work. Maybe it is because I am using the no-cd hack?

Ps yes I bought the game but it runs so much better on my system with the copy protect disabled.

I agree about the spell but I believe it auto-calculated everything. In testing the plug in I only checked to make sure that the spell was available from the vendor, and that buying it allowed me access to the Restore Magicka effect.

However, I just checked - the spell costs like 500 gold, and it costs 50 mana to cast but only restores 20, so it's really not too great a deal - it's only useful because of the enchantments that it allows.

I use the NOCD crack too - heres what you have to do I think. The Data Files option is in the autorun menu that comes up when you insert the cd, not the fullscreen one that shows up after the "Bethesda" animation. In other words to activate any plug ins you can take the cd out and reinsert in to get the autorun menu, or what I do is start the game using the original exe not the NOCD one, check whichever data files I want, exit from that menu, and THEN start the game again using the NOCD crack.

That's not true... ALOT of people just play to enjoy the game not play to see how much they can twist it to their side. I'm level 3 with a full set of glass and an ebony hammer but I truly think I won't be playing with this character for long as I will probably overpower everything. Although I played around and got a 49,000 bounty on my head the first time I got all the items and with that much bounty on u're head if you can see any guards no matter how small they may be on u're screen they're already running after you, lol. I quaffed 10 of the best heal potions and 6 of the 2nd best and he still stomped me. It was a LONG fight though :D :p

just for reference the console command to give your character gold is "Player->additem gold_001 #" with # being the amount you want to give.

You probably can make a good magicka recharging ring with just a regular soul gem, constant effect is nice but a ring that recharges like 30 magicka a shot and has 25 charges that recharge over a few hours would get you through a lot of the game. I've found that health and fatigue recharging rings that I made with petty soul gems and expensive rings did fine in keeping me going except in the most extreme circumstances.

Tackon - I know what you mean about the game being not challenging for a tough character like you're talking about - I'm working on editing all the creatures to have 3x the hit points and do 3x the damage per hit in combat. Might be overkill but eventually with that and editing the npcs to be tougher, and then do some work to get the economy in shape and slow down skill progression some it might be a decent "Hard-core" mod :)

NOCD info

Could someone help me out finding the NOCD hack? I've looked a bit but can't find any links. Hoping it helps my performance.

IMHO, it should be 'Player->AddItem "Gold_100" <number here>', shouldn't it?

Thank you, guys....

thanks jake and lore....

tackon, have you ever visited the soa bg2 forum?????

then you would know i am one of the biggest cheesemeisters alive...the dagger fall aspect i loved teh most was fooling around with the spell maker and item maker....

i loved creating super items, and loved collecting spells, its just more fun for me to travel half way across the island to get one stinking new spell, and i plan to join trevanni and the mage guid to get all possible spells....

sentry centurion sphere summons can only be given by trevanni, and so is building a new mage stronghold with summons as guards....

"destroy the inrruders!!! Daleks attack dr. who!!!""""

oh god, i need a life...
