The thing is ALL slings do really give the str bonus to damage when using bullets. Yes the sling of seeking description makes it sound like thats not the case, but as it turns out that is just misleading. Bug or feature I don't know but try it with any sling and a high str character and you'll see.
Thrown weapons do not give STR damage bonuses that I've seen. Perhaps some do and I haven't noticed but definitely not all.
Ability Scores
about the stats
I've just done a female berserker to try Kelsey.
Low ST and CON, high WIS and 18 INT(!!!!), 'cause she's a heroine,
and high CHA 'cause her pic is terrific!
(Notice that I won't be able to dual, having a low ST....)
I suggest to try roleplayin the stats too, it's very fun!!

On Sling of Seeking
Gentlemen,
Aerie has left me completely speechless! She's killing one fighter after another by using just her sling! What a terrific lassie
Cheers

Slings
Glod, this is what I thought. Time for more...experiments. Imoen, stand over there in front of this large target. Good girl.
If it is true, the poor old sling of seeking is a rip off...

Ok I caved and started wading through the item files. For slings, it looks like only the sling of seeking carries a STR bonus on itself, however all magic bullets also allow the STR bonus, so the sling of seeking is only actually better when using non-magic bullets.
For thrown weapons its a very mixed bag. The dwarven thrower and most axes seem to allow STR bonus, however the very handy Azuredge does not. I couldn't find any daggers that gave STR bonus. Plain non-magic darts claim to give STR bonus but all the magic ones don't.
If anyone tests these and something is incorrect let me know please.
Basically its all just weird. It seems most likely that the STR bonuses on bullets and non-magic darts are accidental while the axe/hammer probably were meant to be there. This would make sense from a game balance standpoints as daggers/darts have a higher RoF. Also the RP aspect just feels better to have your giant str guys throwing axes and hammers rather than wimpy little darts. Not sure why the Azuredge got left out of the party, could be accidental or just a balance issue since its a very handy weapon as is.
