I find it odd that the vampires would have a weapon like that anywhere near their lair.

That was the point, by hiding it in a pool of blood away from people who could use it against them, they hoped to stop pain from the weapon.

They obviously have enough common sence to *lock* the chests with fifty-thousand wooden stakes throughout the entire lair.

Obviously, vampires are obsessed with death. Perhaps they're a tad necromaniacal... you know, sleeping in coffins, hanging out with skeleton warriors, hiding powerful maces of disruption in pools of blood...that sort of thing.

I've been trying to come up with another avatar for myself; the Pepto Bismol Guy is ok, but I gotta think bigger than that. Maybe something having to do with a chicken...I'll see what I can "cook" up on Photoshop.
