Ilithium ore

Post by Edric »

I may have posted this before, but if so I cannot seem to find it to get the answer.

I did the ore quest for Sales (sp?), but only purchased the fake ore. At the time I dont think I had the cash to buy the real stuff. Now when I go back to talk to the ore vendor, she will not do anything but say nice doing business with me.

I am to the point of heading to Bodhi's lair for the first time, and wanted to be able to upgrade the mace when I got it. Am i screwed? Is there a way now to get the ore without using Shadowkeeper or something?

I don't know if this will work, but to get the real stuff you need to talk to a dwarf, Unger Hilldark, in the Copper Coronet. Tell him Jerlia, the ore merchant, sent you. If you can get any info out of him, you're probably in good shape to get the illithium.

Talk with the dwarf in the Copper Corenet near the bar. If he hasn't anything to say to you, you're "screwed".

I guess I am screwed then, cause the little dwarven bastard wont talk to me. Got pissed and even went and smacked down the ore merchant, but she doenst have any Image

Had read that as part of the quest that you kill a guy in the bridge district, but when i went and checked he was not there. Probably doenst show up unless you actually do the quest the right way Image

I wasnt sure that if I got the mace and talked to Cromwell, if it would open that part of the quest up again from either the ore merchant or the dwarf.

I believe that you have to do it all (give the fake stuff to the sculptor, and get the real stuff to Cromwell, but i'd suggest you first upgrade the mace because if you go to the sculptor with both, the real and fake ore, he'll automatically take the real ore and you can't get it back, unless you kill him which reduces your reputation by 6...

So only way you can get it, is to start a new game, or get a previous load and start the quest over.
But in my opinion you really don't need the mace of disruption... i've never have it and i've managed just fine...

Eh i mean that you should do it all before you complete the quest... just to clear things up, since i thought my last note was little bit messy Image

I guess unfortunately that is what i get for doing all the various little quests before going onto Chapter 3. I didnt have the money on me, so opted for the fake ore. Thought I had made a good decision, as the priests took it and seemed ok with it. Didnt know i was gonna screw myself later in the game Image
