First of all, let's start out by saying "I'm Cheap."
I was at EB the other day checking a few misc. things in the Morrowind Strat. Guide. I couldn't read it all because, well, you can't just stand there and read it. However, since I've beaten the game, I checked the Misc. Quests section and found a list of Uber Weapons (not stats, but special weapons) that are scattered through the map. Then I saw a name . . .
The name "Elantra" or "Elarnt" or "Something that began with an 'E'" and this guide said The Name has a list of potential places for the weapons.
So, if you have the guide, can you give me that name? Or if that name sounds familier, let me know too. Special quests NOT givin by people are pretty cool, I think. It's like I figured it out on my own . . . with your help . . . and the Offcial Strategy Guide (TM).
Thanks.

hmmm well I have no idea if you mean the official guide or not. there is an Elante in Ibar-Dad who is a level 17 DE sorcerer but I think he/she is, how do you say, ready to kill your arse now in the Corprusarium at Tel Fyr there is a dwarf there that has a book beside him with a list of Great Artifacts but it doesn't say where they are. hehe of course the guide does but I ain't looking till I beat the game most of the really nice stuff is meant to be gotten after you finish everything else EXCEPT there are certain items you can only get at certain levels. now this I did look at but I won't post them on the board. Hey I paid my $20 bucks, so should you. Its all a part of Bethesda not some 3rd party guide. Of course if you look around I am sure somebody has wrote up a faq and tried to make it look like they actually found all this info on their own

Dang it
I've been there already. I wonder if she actually has notes and such about that. I'll go back and check, hopefully I didn't sell them or anything. There are many books I'd collect, I know I've gotten them, but sold them to merchants for moeny. Stupid. Now I want full collections but the items could be anywhere.
Anyway, thanks for the info. I'd buy the guide but I've beaten the game and many of the quests. Of course not ALL of them (there has to be close to a thousand), but enough not to spend money when more good games are coming out (plus food, and gas, and etc etc etc that I need to survive).
Later.

Nothing
OK, I just went to the place and the notes were worthless. I won't stop looking for cool stuff, but those notes didn't help at all.
Ibar-Dad is one of the BEST caverns in the game, if you're tough enough. Thanks again.

Well I will tell you one thing. If you can learn your way around the TES you can find anything. Even those items that you only get at certain levels. Basically what you have is containers with leveled items in them and depending on the container and your level, you will get 1 of several items. Example: there are 3 types of containers that have l_m_wpn_melee_blunt. Of these 3 types there are like 16 of 1 type, 7 of another and 3 of another bringing to a total of 26 containers with that l_m_wpn_melee_blunt. (not exact numbers but close) Of course these containers are scattered around the game world and when you open one, you will get a blunt weapon appropriate to you level. Now the kicker. Say you open one at level 8, you will get steel war hammer of smiting or icebreaker. It is random which you will get SO if you know what items a container can have based on your level, you can take the item or leave that area, i.e. zone, go back in and the container rerolls the random. Theoretically you can come and go till it drops the item you want. In the case above, the steel war hammer is a 1.00 speed, 1-32/1-27/1-2, dynamic smiting enchanted weapon while the icebreaker is 1.35 speed, 2-14/1-20/4-18, freezing touch enchanted weapon. And these 2 weapons only come out of the 26 containers at level 8 only. Now also if you know the TES you can find out where these containers are so you can get both if you wanted Anyway there is tons of leveled stuff in the game that the only way you can get it is to either know where and at what level it will spawn or just get lucky.
Edit: not to say there aren't some items that are constant. there are a lot that are and these are the ones you usually see the most talked about on boards. they can always be found at the same place. its those leveled items that you don't see alot of ppl getting

So
it seems there's at least one reason to get up in levels save attribute raising. Are there others?
And, BTW, just curious (because not going to hunt items) if the level required is just the lower boundary or it should match exactly?
TIA,
L.

perfectly because the loot changes almost everytime you level. well not everytime..depends on the container really. I mean some loot stays the same for several levels. take the example above, there are 4 diff weapons at level 1, 4 at 2, 2 at 3, 6 at 5, 19 at 7, 2 at 8, 2 at 9, 1 at 11, 1 at 12, 2 at 13, 1 at 15, 2 at 16, 1 at 18 and thats the last change of items. so it appears that say at level 3 and 4 you have the same choices and then it changes at 5. now with that said it just occured to me that there is a probabilty of containers respawning at the marker levels.
