Major Problem

Post by Biljac »

Seems I have a rat stuck on a door I need to get inside to complete a quest. I can see its tail hanging thru the door but it will not move or can't move (seems like it trys to no avail) and as long as its there I can't open the door. Anyone have this happen to them?

Whenever I've seen an appendage through a door (and it happens down in tombs fairly regularly), I find that the door opens easily. You've actually tried this door, and it's stuck? I wonder if moving to another area adjacent to the dungeon would "free" the rat.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Try killing it with a damage on touch spell(if you have any) or a fireball with like a 5 ft range
My computer has wheels, so it can run over the other, inferior computers!

The door must swing 'in' instead of 'out'. NPCs and creatures (objects too, I think) can prevent you from opening it. You can hope the mob will move away, try to kill it 'through' the door (as Kanji suggests), or open the console and use TCL to turn off collision to move through the obstacle...then TCL again to re-enable collision.

I have had this happen to me, preventing me from finishing a quest. When an npc jams up a door I wouldn't consider it cheating to fly through the door using ~TCL like someone already posted.

Actually the door swung out away from the rat but it still wouldn't open. Anyway I used an area efect spell on the door and killed the rat. Opened right up after he was dead. Thanks all.
Oh and I went in and out of the area several times..he was always there. Its the next to the last quest from Sadrith fighters guild if anyone else has the prob.
