I'm sad, my girlfriend just ditched me and ran away with my sister.

Yeah yeah, Dont get mad, Ill try to do it right then.
Im currently both bored and tired, and I have to go to work in just half an hour or so. Also my computer still dosnt work as it is supposed to and I dont have money to fix it until sometime in august. Hopefully someone can lend me enough money to not have to skip the Arvika festival though.

@DW: Insomnia is not very fun, I suffered from that during my teens - that's why I've read so many books

Glad to year your thesis work is going well. Is there any special reasons why the CP would have found the women more useful in their agenda than the Social Democrats? Or do you think the CP just realised the potential earlier?

Seriously though, if you are bored and tired it sounds bad you have to go to work soon

Do you know what's wrong with your comp? Hope it isn't too expensive, would be a pity if you missed the festival.

Yes, Id rather stay here and spam with you.

The only thing that is wrong (I think) is that the OS installation is very old, so everything is very slow. And I dont have the the diskspace to bakup the data I need for a reinstall. Also I suspect It to be virus infected, but im not certain since the discomfort that comes from most Anti virus software is almost as big as from harmless viruses.

@Georgi: Yes, Keep taunting me. I love it.

In addition I just noticed all my pants are dirty, wich means I have to go to work in sarong. Now they are going to give me wierd looks again.

It is hard to say.... My sense is that the CP probably realised the potential earlier, but I think it may also be related to an overall philosophy.... That urgent sense of generating social change from a global sort of perspective. In North America, I think it is also that the Social Democrats might have been more concerned about bucking social convention, but is is really difficult to say.
This is one of the things about social history that is both fascinating and frustrating....trying to understand the motivation behind actions and perceptions...

No, it isnt to difficult, but the HDs are partioned in wierd ways, wich I would like to fix as well, therefor the need for backup space.

Let them - it's better people get used to it, and remember you break ground for other people too by wearing clothes that are unusual.

Yes, frustrating but also exciting, I imagine

All research work is frustrating I think, just in different parts of the process.

I wonder how much the European Social Democrats and Communists differed from the North American. The Scandinavian Social Democracy has always different quite a bit from both the rest of Europe and North America, I think.

Yes, that is true, and there can be some similaritiies as well. That sense of having a hunch, and then trying to bear it out....I would think it is like looking for the proverbial needle in the haystack, regardless of the discipline...

That would be fascinating to find out..... I believe that Europe was somewhat less affected by the McCarthy era so I'm guessing that this would have had a tremendous influence.... Sometime I would like to research this actually....

The proverbial needle is certainly valid for all disciplines...

as is the realisation that the needle was

a. not a needle at all, instead it was something completely else or
b. not 1 needle, 18 476 393 needles...

Europe was considerably less affected by the McCarthy era, Scandinavia was hardly affected at all, so that is a difference. Isn't there a tremendous amount of topics that would be interesting to research if one only had the time?

Yes, I know the feeling. My list of "when I retire" things to do, is so long by now so I'd have to live 500 years to do it all...but it's good, I can't think of anything worse than not wanting to do anything at all, not being interested in anything at all...
