From the CGO preview of Throne of Bhaal: "It's certainly not going to be the end of the Baldur's Gate series"
This means that while the current story-line will wrap up, we can expect more adventures on the Sword Coast from Bioware!
BG3 a possibility!
bioware will cetainly make more AD&D games, but the character we are using in BG2 and expansion wil be dead or becomes god or whatever, and if, only if there is BG3, we are definitly using a new character, either the character's offspring or anotehr child of bhaal, that will depends what is the ending of the expansion ToB.

I agree. I hope we see a brand new story line, location, etc. The forgotten realms is a huge fantasy world, with dozens of rich potential plotlines and I for one would like to see them take advantage of it.
