Matron Mother's Daughter

I have gotten to the underdark and entered the drow city and recieved the quest of finding the matron mother's daughter. I have not been discovered(drow illusion) and have gone to Mind Flayer dungeon and have completed everything in there. Outside of the dungeon ?Solaufein? says his thoughts are on the the future and won't tell me anything.

My journal says to meet Solaufein by the entrance so he can extract the drow from their astral travel. What should do to end this quest. I have completed both the Beholder and illithid dungeons.

That quest is realy buggy,
If i remember correctly there is a time limit to it,
so right when you got to the area the battle should begin to rescue the daugther.

The beholder and mindflayed dungeon are part of a later quest.

I would try reloading, and do the quest again, and then see what happends

The fight should definately start when you talk to Solaufein outside the beholder tunnels. I never had a problem with a bug in it though.. I guess I was just lucky.

Oh that doesn't sound good.... you see I had a problem with that quest, too, for some reason Soulafein stayed in Ust Natha and was giving me that 'mind on other things' speech.... lucky for me i had a save before i talked to soulafein and the handmaid about saving..... whats-her-name from the flayers

Uhm.... i pray youve got a save before it... and if you dont.... uh.... consult the more experienced players who post on here, they might have some advice better than mine

So those MF and beholder tunnels are part of a later quest, hmmmm? Does that mean I've messed things up by clearing those holes out before going to Ust Natha? I'm just on my way to the city now after hacking my way through the beholder tunnels - I had no idea they were part of a seperate quest.
Do I need to reload to pick up missed XP?

No XP missed for doing the quests before, just do not throw away the elder brain blood or the elder orb eyestalk (or the Kuo toa prince blood), and you will be fine.

I know it's totally off-topic, and you're all gonna snigger and point, but how the $@#! do I get into the drom city from the Underdark. If it's though those doors in the Kukkie tunnels to the west of the village, how do I open them?
I've spoken to the dragon, taken on the eggs quest etc., but don't know how to get there...
Lots of 'hows' in this message, but a quick answer would suffice. I don't wanna look at a walkthrough, just a hint will suffice.

Not Kukkie Tunnels

The entrance to the Drow City is on the top East side .. not West from the Kukkie Tunnels in the East.

Right after you come out from Adalon's lair .. there's a passage going up and east ... you'll see a door there (or I think it was a door icon that appears) .. you click and behold you're inside Drow City .. you might meet a guard there to who will recognise you as from Ched Nassar .. and you have to say you are Veldrin.

Great you did the Illithid and Beholder earlier .. you can do all the quests in time within the city now ... take your time .. plenty of loot in there and xps too.
