Im starting a MP game with two mages, a thief a ranger/cleric and two fighters.
If my ranger dual wields hammers and flails and my thief(swashbuckler) specialises in bows, c-bows and other ranged. Then what should my two fighters be.
I was thinking of a monk for one. Lots of dam, can hide in shadows to attack mages and physical immuninties and magical resists.
I was also thining of a barbarian as the first two proficiency points seem to be the most effective. He can were semi-decent armour and can boost strength by 4 with rage.
My question is, What should he wield. Dual wielding would allow for long swords, katanas. 2handed weapons would allow for Carsomyr(is carsomyr a paladin only?), long bows, halberds.
Also is the monk truly powerful?. I mean he gets 1d20 damage which is the highest ive heard of and can do all of his secial abilities. But can you get more powerful weapons and armour than what the monk gets naturally?
Which warrior wields what?

Carsomyr is paladin only
and i would "suggest" katana's and long swords for one and simatar's and two handed weapons for the other
but you should go with what you like best and what you think will be most fun

Ancient times they had no statistics so they had to fall back on lies
"I'm invinceable"
"your a loony"
I'd rather be rich than stupid.
If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

Yeh, one's an elf sorceror(combat flexibility), the other's a gnome illusionist(extra spells)Also, why not change one mage to a sorcerer!?
Why is the swashbuckler made for dual wielding? I made him ranged because the monk and Barbarian and Ranger cleric had melee covered. Also the swashbuckler is a halfling for the high dex and thief bonuses, add the 19 dex to bonuses for slings
One main reason i chose the barbarian is because it appeared to be a wast of profiency points to go any higher than specialised. It takes a whole three points and you only get another +1 to hit and +1 to dam and speed, The barb gets those easy in rage and he's naturally fast.

Also i think for a rollplaying point of vieuw(sp?) het shouldn't be using a bow, but that's just me.
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.
The gamebanshee website says list one of the strengths of the swashbuckler as 2 proficincy points in thief melee weapons, but i had no problems placing 2 proficenicy points in short bow, havent tried c-bow or sling yet.
From a role playing perspective i should have at least some melee proficincies, which do you recommend, Staff of Ryn would be nice, The barb has already covered long sword and katana.

You don't have to rollplay, i once played a beserker/thief (I believe Astafas had a funny story about that one)Originally posted by Maleous

I can't think of what that guy should have expereinced in his life to get that way!
From a rollplaying point of view i would go for scemitars for the swashbuckler, not very good backstabbing weapons, but since he can't backsatab that's no problem.
Also shortsword fit with the character in my opinion.
