A Kensai dueled to a mage is a popular and effective character. If you try one make sure you dual at level 9. That way you'll have access to every mage spell. A Kensai/Mage done in this fashion is every bit as good as full mage as well as having excellent fighting ability to boot. Grand mastery in Katana and 3 proficiencies in dual wielding work well. That way you can use Dekon’s Zerth Blade and Celestial Fury!

Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Xellent!I would suggest a Totemic Druid.Believe or not, those Spirit Animals fight for you and they are immune to non-magical weapons.

Congrats....already certain you'll play again, eh?

Whatever class you take, think about what sort of stronghold you'd like, and see some good threads on getting 2 strongholds with fighter dual class combos. Ranger/Cleric dual is awesome, not sure if you can do 2 strongholds.

I'm almost done my second playthrough, and all I can say is I wish I'd gone with just 5 chars....things are a bit easier when you know what's coming and can prepare.

Well, I started over. I have not gotten far though.

I actually started a multiplayer game and created a Monk and a Sorcerer and then put that game into the single player directory.

So I am playing with a Monk as Protagonist and a Sorcerer tagging along. I was debating which to do, monk or sorcerer and decided "why not both" Image

Both these Characters are neutral and I am filling out my party with evil and neutral party members this time through.

I have

Monk
Sorcerer
Korgan
Jaheira
Jan
Viconia

I am giving serious consideration to losing Jaheira but I don't know who I would replace her with. I did like her fire elementals and insect plague the first time through. Can not think of a better option.

You could boot Jaheria and not loose out, you have Viconia to do all things secreterial and you could also gain the XP that would have gone to her as opposed to ading to the other characters.
