Soul trapping a golden saint

Post by Varger »

I have the summon golden saint scroll and an empty grand soul gem. I know she can take six hits from my sword and can use dispell. I summon her. Hit her five times. Cast soul trap and deal the death blow. Sometimes I see her cast dispell before I can kill her, other times I don't. After 15 tries I still can't trap her. Any ideas?

well I found that the best way to trap a Golden Saint is to use a weapon that is enchanted to soul trap when it hits. I personally enchanted a Deadric Dai - Katana with soultrap as well as some serious poison damage, it usually takes 3 hits for me and it traps anything.

The best way to trap golden saints is to trap em when they are dead (except summonings, they go *poof* when dead if I remember it right )
You can fill all your Grand soulgems this way, with just one golden saint, just cast soultrap on the corpse till all your gems are full.
Its a bug I think, but who cares =)

The best spot to find saints is up in the north, the grazeland region, I always see one there.
And at deadra shrines of course.
With each kill, I grow wiser, and with added wisdom, I grow stronger.

So I enchanted a sword to soul trap, summoned the golden saint and killed her. But I still don't trap her soul. I only have one empty grand soul gem in my inventory. I give up.

If you are trying to cast Soultrap on a GS you summon, then you need to cast it before you kill it (The GS can still cast dispel on the Soultrap, so it's not 100% effective). Go find one adventuring, kill it, then cast the original Soultrap spell (not one you may make in itemaker, a scroll or an enchanted item) w/ TOUCH distance on the corpse...it'll work every time :)

If you don't want to pay for the enchant, just use Umbra.
What happens if you soultrap Umbra? He is an Orc right?

the easiest way to soul trap saints is to make a high powered weapon with a soul trap activated by touch, and have rest of points set to damage health....

made a deadric claymore with 16-32 damage health, and 2 second soul trap per hit...

takes them down fast and easy....

get azuras star!!!!

yes, you can soul trap using spells, but hey have a nasty habit of casting dispell on themselves...

until i figured out, i nearly uninstalled the game...

umbra is a sword with RANGED soul trap spell, set to use only, will not cast when strikes....

cassius varros, the commander of the imperial legion outpost outside of balmora has such a sword, so is the daedric soul trap dagger, both crappy, youre better of casting items in comparison to both cassius's sword and the daedric soultrap dagger, no idea who has dagger, just found it in tes editor....

but umbra is better than both weapons, according to fable and others, umbra completely ignores weaposn resistance!!!!

it might thus be able to punch thru sanctuaried mages and shielded monsters....

this is suppose to be undocumented...

now if you try to soul trap a npc, not monster, they have no suls to trap!!!!!!

try using a trigger when hit sword for a while and kill a quest npc...they have no soul...says something about spell has no target.....
i really tried to trap a "dagoth" character, no go...

i wanted to see if i could soul trap a major ash vampire, and see what kind of item i could create....

Heh. Back in daggerfall, I tried to soultrap the king of worms. Imagine my disappointment when it wouldn't let me :)
