I hope I don't sound unreasonable here......but is there any chance that people could employ spell checks before posting in the story thread........? Undeniably, the point of writing the DF saga is, for the most part, to have fun....but even so.... given that we all possess spell checks, and that many of us probably own dictionaries..... :) ;)

I am happy to hear this :)

@DW - does this mean I have to adhere to this rotten American dictionary in Word?? not that I often mispel ;) :p ...but what about the grammatical errors I pride myself in?? :D

I agree, though, and on that point - occasionally using a line break to open up paragraphs helps reading too :)

ROFL :D You can switch the Word dictionary so that it uses UK spelling..... One of the first things I did.... :D :p

IMO grammar is a rather different matter....... For one thing artistic license is a factor, and for another most grammar checks are appalling.... ;) must be something to do with the US influence........ :p

Does this mean I can't write 'Dargon Winch' and Yshnaiya Twain' any more? :D

Frankly, you guys would never be able to read my stuff if I didn't have the spell check. I love this day and age. :)

@Gwally, lol! I do that myself quite often :D

I do agree though that spell checks are great ;) Although if relied on too heavily some amusing mistakes can occur..... :D

Anyway, I will stop spamming this thread ;)

Thank God for that! Why do American's spell words without U's?

Better, faster, quicker.  Perhaps you would have an easier time explaining why the UK chooses to add a U, and "Because that's the way its' spelled." is not an answer. :p

Perhaps we should move the drinks and the discussion of British spelling mistakes over to the DF Tavern?
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

This is a dry !!!???!!! thread. Should we move all of the spellcheck/grammar/ethnic spelling nuances discussions to the tavern or just the UK issue of U's in wourds. :p

**Turns to Gwally**

I look catty? Catty ?! Hey, Mr.! I'm gonna scratch up all your furniture if you can't think of any better adjectives for me other than catty!!!

:D ;) :)

Seriously, I'm glad at least you know where everyone is. Helm knows we're scattered all around...Now, who has to catch up? Ysh and Dragon Wench? Anyone else I'm not aware of...?

Good posts, people. It's good to know the threads haven't died...I just got in here!

No, no. No need to edit except that you miss-spelt 'nagging' and 'ally'.... Hey, you asked... (also ‘sense’ in the above quote, but you didn’t ask about that!) :p :D I think its funny! Watch that I don't trod on your tail. That's what I usually end up doing to our cats at home. Then they try to get even with me and I have to defend myself with the squirt bottle... :D

I blame all my type-o's on this strange keyboard. I'm on somebody else's computer, and they've got a funky two-angled keyboard and a mouse with a wheel in the middle that scrolls the pages really fast so you can't see what you're doing.

I thought I spelled "Sense" with an "S" though! I even double checked!... :o :p

Okay, I fixed the ones in the Book, just to make ya'all happy. :p I'll leave "senSe" the same for posterity.

See ya on the boards...

(You better not trod on my tail, Mr.!)

Hi all, I'm sorry I'm not able to keep up. I may write Viv out soon as I just can't keep my momentum up with the story.

*hug* Things are not going well right now. :(
