Feeling like I'm in the Amazon Basin

@CE:
Have you tried wearing a hat with really large eh, what's it called in English? The part of the hat that is not directly on your head, the sides, that can be very broad on a sunhat or sombrero.

That would be a wide-brimmed hat. :)

Everyone is welcome to have the hot, humid, stifling weather I'm experiencing here in Tennessee. It's threatening to rain - and it is a little further north, where Bloodstalker is - but it's just a bluff here. In the meantime, I'm being randomly assaulted by various flying insects. You're welcome to have them, too. I'll send it all your way, in a jiffy. :D

@dragon wench:

Wouldn't this southern weather melt that layer of permafrost you guys have up there in British Columbia? ;)

@BS: That sounds absolutely great, I'm so envious :) I really miss being alone in the wilderness, I haven't been away from the city for 1.5 year now, which is far too long. Well, only 3 weeks to my holiday when I'm going to spend most of the time hiking. :)

Thanks Chanak :) And welcome here btw, glad you found your way to the pub :D

The flying insects sounds interesting, I like insects. What are they? Here in Stockholm we have a hot and fairly dry weather, and there aren't many insects around at all, only a few mosquitos in the evening.

@DW: Goodnight, sweet dreams :)

lmao :D It is actually quite pleasant and temperate these days. For example, today it has been bright and sunny, and the temperature is about 22* C. Also nice is that it rarely gets humid here during the summer. It are the winters I really hate because it rains most of the time...

@dragon wench:

Of the zillion other places I've lived, I spent some time in Seattle, Washington. I visited Vancouver once on a weekend...wooooooooooo! What a wild experience. :eek: :D

Rainy 'tis not the word. Try soggy. However, the temps were mild (rats...I used to be pretty good at translating Celsius to Farenheit) year-round. And when the weather cleared, I've never seen a more beautiful day. I miss that place. :(

Ah, you should try the British winter. Or, come to think of it, the British summer :rolleyes: ;)

@BS ok :cool: I think I will probably end up having to borrow the CD from a friend, since I can't figure why else it wouldn't install...

@Dottie thanks for the drink, and the sympathy :D What, no hug?

Edit: @BS well you just happen to be here too... what's your point? :p :D

Shrinking? It's probably just me going fat :D

@Georgi: Good evening sweetie, the cheesecake was exellent :) Wassup with you?

@Dottie: I don't mind rain, but seing Astafas and many other people in this fair city loves this weather, I think we should equip you with a personal cloud, one you could carry with you like a reversed umbrella so to speak.

@Chanak: F = C x (9/5) = 32
I'm not so fond of this formula for quick estimations, so I use this estimation:
0C = 32F
10C = 50F
15C = 60F
20C = 70F (it's really 68F)
25C = 80F
then it starts to deviate too much
30C = 86F

More Arthropod stuff...

@Georgi:

Nice to see you. :D One day, I wish to enjoy the weather you have on the Isle. That is the #1 place I wish to visit. After all, my ancestors were British, right and proper, thank you. :D

@CE:

I rather like insects, too. Presently, I am being assaulted by a variety of hymenopterans - most notably stinging wasps, such as spider hunters, paper wasps, and an annoying ground hornet or two. They are finding their way inside. That signs that I posted outside: "Hymenopterans not welcome here," and "Warning: Insecticides will be used" apparently have done little good. Mosquitoes are in great abundance, as well. Others also abound, but they just seem to like hanging around lights.

So you like to throw rocks at hornets nests and run too huh? :D

Georgi, I don't have a point, just trying to stir up some paranoia. I need entertainment, and Dottie was a convenient target. :)

No offense to Dottie of course. :cool:

My pleasure. Im holding back on the hugs, Makes them more special.
;)

@CE: WTF! If Astafas dosnt like rain why dont he wear a coat or an umbrella? Why do I have to suffer just because he's weird and cant get dressed properly? :mad: ;)

@BS: non taken. :)

Hymenopterans? You an entomologist? Hm, sound like the local hymenopterans are illiterate, that's not a good thing, maybe you should try to educate them?
