BG2 Installation Trouble

Just reinstalled Win98, and I'm trying to install BG2, but when I click on install I get an error window saying
"Internal Failure
Error Number: 0x80040707
Description:"

It does go into setup, but when it gets to where you choose the kind of setup, there are no options there, and then it crashes.

Is my CD screwed?

It was fine last week when I was playing the game...

Did you try to erase all files and try uploading again? Usually it clears after that...My disc sometimes does the same thing. If not, then, uh oh... (Big help, aren't I?

) Sorry, I don't know didlly-squat about the mechanical stuff.

There are no files to erase, since I reformatted the hard drive.
