Real Life (tm) responsibilities and a subsequent HD crash have taken me away from Morrowind for a few days. Anybody know when the patch is coming out? About a week or so ago, the announced date was going to be yesterday (06/10)...what happened?
Sorry man...haven't heard a thing about it. Very curious as to what it will entail, given the hints that it is going to respond to a lot of gamers' concerns.
I'm guessing (in addition to bug fixes) a little more money for merchants, a little less oomph for the robe of st. roris and fewer cliffracers, but that's just me.
I hope we get it by the end of the month, anyway. It would be nice to have some 'official' changes made instead of having to rely on mods to (maybe) solve some of the issues.
Pete Hines, Bethsoft's PR person, is claiming this week.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Sorry SS, I can't shed much light here for you. Bethesda seems to be playing the details very close to their chest. I can't really blame them, though. I seem to recall that they suffered a bit of a backlash with their Daggerfall patches not matching what they had told people they would fix.
Not that the game needs a lot of 'fixing', but some things could stand a new coat of paint and a bit of changing. Here's hoping the patch at least addresses the major concerns (bugs and gameplay issues) we have right now.
I'd love to see them fix NPC pathing methods. I hate having to reload when some poor idiot gets himself stuck behind a rope or between some rocks. I would really like to see sleep patterns put in. ( I realize they had it coded, but took it out for a few reasons ) I think the game is pretty easy as is, but thieving/assasination would be alot more fun with them asleep in bed.
Anyone else had crashes to desktop when they are making large transactions with merchants?
Elowyn, too high of level... wish I was lower... (Morrowind)

I loathe the babysitting missions too, but a decent 'workaround' for the lousy pathfinding AI is to use the "TCL" command in the console. Just wait for the NPC as he/she runs through the obstacle and reenable clipping (TCL again). It's not the best of all worlds, however it's better than having to reload an older save and spend THAT much more time on the escort mission...
Isn't there a VERY large risk that you don't manage to turn off TCL again in time, and the guy runs straight through the scenery and becomes stuck in a hill forever and ever??? Or does the no-clip only work with objects, not with the ground?
