Just Beat TOB SPOILER!

Post by Thorin1 »

Wow, I just beat it, wow, that was friggin hard. No cheats, no walkthroughs, just a couple questions on the boards, and several looks at what cespinar can make (didn't want to pass something up).

Favorite part of the game:
#1 when the adventures return with the eyestalk of the gauth and attempt to kill you in Abrizgales Lair, then reload after you murder them.

#2 When you get to tell Mellisan: "Well everyone's gotta have a dream ... Psycho."

Yeah I really enjoyed giving the adventurers the quest too.

"I have a quest for you, the fate of the world rests upon it's completion. I'll give you....100 gold?" :D

*lol* The end is a bugger of a battle. All the extra little beasties really scuppered me a few times. Great end to the saga though, I feel. I don't just mean the last fight, I mean the whole expansion. *applaudes*

It did seem like a huge leveling fest to me. But it was fun, in the same way IWD was, not too many choices, not many side quests, but the battles themselves were fun.

Favorite combo of Spells in TOB: excluding your stoneskins, Protection from evils, bless, chant, etc , and your anti-mage spells (Breach, secret word, ruby ray of reversal)

Walk in with Improved Altricity, Timestop, Greater Malasion, Maze, Maze, Maze, Maze (till you get to the single hardest guy of the group), Finger of Death, Finger of Death, Finger of Death, Symbol Death. And another Time stop thrown in there, this works best with Edwin as he gets tons of spells.

Good work!!
You should try it with Ascension, it makes the end a lot more chalanging, and furfilling(sp?)
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

same here

Congrats, I just finished it without cheese and cheating as well... I think I have been playing the game for 15 months now (soa that is, I just kept starting that over and over) but Zedarion, Chaotic Evil F21/M18 is now the god of murder :)

Tenser's transformation rocks... having 300 hit points and 9 attacks in a round through improved haste is just too damn good.

One of my favorite aspects is the after you finish the game and you get to read what happens to the NPC's.
I was actually sort of moved when I read Viconia's piece (my first romantic interest).
She says: Lou, it's the Beginning of a Great Adventure

Indeed the ascention is a must if you feel so fulfilled with TOB and once you've done that try to solo TOB it's hell and the final battle is close to impossible if you aren't a mage or thief with UAI so that you can cast wish...

Doing the same with the ascention is impossible for most us mortal people
