Effects of Charisma

Post by Zaha »

What effects does a character's charisma have in the game? I heard that talking to the Black Dragon involves a charisma roll. Other than that, I don't know any.

About a 10% discount in stores and an occasional (unimportant) extra option in dialogs.

That's all...

No rolls are made, though. You either meet a certain requirement or you don't.

i recently started playing a character with 18 natural charisma, and noticed that there are a LOT of extra dialogue options. as xyx said, theyre useless, but i see a bunch of different options that i would have missed just putting the ring of human influence on (just for stores).

The Ring of Human Influence affects dialogues also, although you might be able to get more with a natural 18.

For instance, without the ring, with a natural CHA of 9, the woman in the back of the Copper Coronet did not offer me the chance to sleep with one of her girls. Also without the ring the Drows at the Ust'Natha bar did not offer me the "special treatment". But when I put on the ring, viola.

While most people would dismiss these dialogues as non-"vital" the choice between sex and no sex, is definitely a life or death decision in my book. :D

Yes, bigamy is not very popular with the girls. I can say with definite certainty, that with Aerie, it is the end of the road if you sleep with Phaere.

I assume the same goes with Jaheira, although I've never had the patience to romance her.

I think Viconia is the only one that doesn't mind all that much, judging from the dialogue. She pretty much gets a little upset but shrugs it off as something you had to do, and it seemed like she blamed Phaere for the whole thing. I dunno if the romance will still continue, because I didn't want to risk it, so I reloaded.
