Beta Toolset - This game will rroooccckkk!

Post by smass »

Just installed the beta toolset that comes with the preorder package and all I can say is - awesome - I think this game will be everything I have hoped for and more.

Creating modules is very easy - even with the very limited amount of objects and tools available in the beta.

The monster graphics look excellent, customization is easy peasy, even scripting looks to be managable.

I am officially offering to mortgage my house, liquidate my 401K, and sell every last investment I own to buy a time machine and go "back to the future" to June 19th so I can buy this game.

Has anyone else tried the toolset? - what do you think?

I finally downloaded the toolset after long hours/days of waiting. Impressive and simple to use, it reminds me of Visual C++. I did a small module something like an isolated Island full of traps :D . Once you get a grip to scripting too you can make mirucles with this toy. :)

I want to create levels too!

I've never used C++ or anything like it. Is it worth d/l ing this for to get used to it should I just wait till I have the game?
(I did make a few levels for half-life though)

If you are near an Electronics Boutique or Best Buy you can pre-order the game - at Best Buy is was $10.00 for the preoder package which includes the Beta CD for the toolset.

Your $10.00 purchase gets taken off the price of the game when you buy it - you also get a poster and a password to take part in a special dungeon adventure at Biowares website.

Not a bad deal - EB and Best Buy generally have the best prices when the game comes out - so I always buy new games at these places anyway.

@Rob-hin you don't have to know C++ to use the toolset, it is very simple. If you have a fast connection go ahead and download it, if not (250mb) you could wait until the game is out. :)

Not gonna download untill after my exames are over in about 3 weeks time. :)

Then I'm gonna download it and see what I can do with it - although as often stated I'm not really the creative type when it comes to such matters, but I want to get into the scripting part :)
