suggestions for new character

Post by lusipher »

I have only played thief types so far, does anyone have a suggestion for a fun character type to play?
I tried mages guild, but the initial quests are SOOOOO boring.

Also, In starting a new character is there any subquests that one should partake in? I have always gone straight to Caius.
Read about the speed boots and various other items, sound like the game would be more fun after acquiring these items.

Any suggestions, let me know. :)

if you want to be a mage you don't have to join the mage guild you can go over to house Telvanni, they are more interesting. A fun class to play would be Nightblade, think of them as assassin mages. There is one quest you can do in Seyda Neen(that where you start) involving the tax collector.

Also you can do the Fargoth quest...it gets you some extra change and if you go out of Seyda Neen on the main road, passing the silt strider port on your left, eventually you will come to a crossroads with a book in the middle. Approach it and a guy falls out of the sky...no really...and when he lands (and dies) his body contains an Iron Sparksword, and three scrolls of Icarian Flight. Use them and paste yourself all over a mountain, you have been warned :D It's what happened to him. Do this quest, the Fargoth quest and the Processus Vitellius quest (find his body, report him murdered, find and kill the murderer, get some dosh) and you'll be all kitted out for Balmora.

Hey, I love the mage guild quests. I can do all of Ajira's and half of Edwinna's without ever going out of the guild halls :)

Finishing the second half of Edwinna's available quests is a bit of a pain, but it allows you to finish the Disappearance of the Dwarves quest, which is great for both faction and general rep.

actually, with the tax collector, if you find the body, approach the killer, THEN go to the excise office, you keep the two hundred from the body AND get the 500 reward. Not much, but big difference for beginning characters.

Thanks for your suggestions so far, I hope more keep coming! :D
