Modem connection possible?

Post by bobqwer »

Hey guys, need a second opinion here?
Think it would be possible, or liveable to play this game with only a modem connecxtion, or do i need to fork over 45 dollars a month (expensive here in hawaii)?
THanks in advance

A modem would support about 8 players, but it would be slow for everyone. It wouldn't be as bad as Counter-Strike or Unreal Tournament, it might run relatively well, hopefully I'm getting a broadband connection myself...

You should be able to play comfortably, but hosting is another matter... :)

a modem would never support 8 people. there isnt enough bandwidth.

people with cable/dsl, even people capped at 15k upload, could still host 4-6 people.

for games larger then that you will need to look for people hosting games on college networks or on fat home connections.

It can acctually, it's been said that a modem could, with low graphical detail, it's not a FPS, you don't need to have a high ping just to play.
