I've heard Jack Teagarden belt out a good blues on records, but of course, that was more of a jazz-blues. And Led Zeppelin was founded on the idea of taking common blues riffs and slowing them down greatly.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Hmmm...would George Thorogood (sp?) qualify?
@Fable: Yep to Led Zep. Jimmy Page made the "power riff" famous by doing just that. I also think he was chiefly responsible for the transmogrification of blues-influenced riffs into the "heavy metal" of the 80's. (not to wander too far off topic. )
