Gongrats to England :) . Nice game with Liverpool strikers at their best(ok i'm a Liverpool supporter :D ). Denmark however was kind off unlucky today (goalkeeper errors), but england played better.

Now i'm ready to see England with its impressive 3-zone pressure system against Brazil's R attack. :D

Gongrats also to Germany, it took a while to score but they did score at the right moment and passed to the Quarterfinals.

@frogus yes off of the initial touch of the ball from the corner cannot be offsides as the ball is on the goal line effectively and therefore the palyers cannot be in front of the ball not allowing them to be in offside position. Although immediately after the next touch on the ball it is possible to be offsides. :)

Well I have been keeping an eye on the whole red card incident with the Portugese and their 'man-handling' of the referee. Well that whole incident just got a lot worse, with the referee accussing the recipient of the red card of punching him. If the player is found liable for assault, he will recieve a life time ban. :(

@ddaq: I take it you're not happy with the results... I can agree that the more defensive northern European style is a bit boring (sometimes more than a bit), but I wouldn't call it cheating.

Go Senegal, go!!! Halftime and the current result is 1 - 1. Comments: Sweden started out strong and scored a goal after 11 minutes. Senegal weren't getting their game together early in the game, but when Sweden backed home, Senegal started playing fast and offensive. Senegal equalised after 36 minutes. Sofar a fun game, and if Sweden keeps playing defensive, Senegal will win!!!!!!!

Woohoo! Senegal in through, golden goal scored by Camara in 104th min in the extension. The Senagalese players are dancing on the field, it's great to see and it's great for football that this offensive and entertaining team has made the last 8.

Congratulations SENEGAL

Congrats to the "serial killers" from Senegal. :D

The thought that they'll have an almost full strength team for their next match should worry the others.

Only the second African team to reach the quarter finals! :) I must admit to not liking the golden goal, but when a match has to be decided without a replay, the golden goal is preferable in advance of penalties and a lotto (which could have happened to the Ireland group) Bad luck Sweden...

What a great result for the English too!! I was worried the Danes were being underestimated by the English fans, that would have been dangerous if the team had done so. Poor Sorensen, he is a great club player...

LOL! :D if you could see some of the UK press this morning you would think we had already brought the cup home! :D

As Nippy said, this is a multi national board but is English speaking. Please be respectful. I get a general feel of your main message, and it is not the way we speak to each other on this board. I would suggest you take your sour rant elsewhere.

@Tammy, it is not too difficult to make out what his main message intends, even if you do not speak Spanish ....

As Nippy pointed out, this board's common language is English. About the half of members here are non-native English Speakers (including a few moderators), and we all appreciate and respect each other, and the Administrator's decision to run this Website in English.

I do not believe you cannot understand Enalish, and if you want to keep posting here, do so in English. Thank you.

Completely unnecessary. I can't be bothered to translate it in full, I get the general feel and that is enough. Misplaced, not even opening up for discussion.

@ddaq, we are pretty open minded here, but you will not endear yourself diving in with your first post so aggressively. I can understand you are upset, but your approach is out of order.

:D Larsson and Svensson with hair (Anders Svensson) played well today, sad for Svensson that his nice strike 5 mins into the extension was a little wide and only hit the wood. Diouf played great today, Swedish defense couldn't control this quick and technical player :) Camara was also great, and the match hero, scoring both goals for Senegal :)

I don't mind golden goal as much as penaties, golden goal still feels like playing decides the end result. :) I really hope we will see a minumum of games decided on penaties.

The English played fabulous, if they were to play the rest of the tournament like they did the 1st half, they would be well deserved champions! Gone is the old "boring English football" that made lots of Premier League matches end 0-0, this English team looks very different, still with a classical style. :) They also seem to have a good team spirit, I thought it was nice to see Beckham kiss all the scorers, looked a bit "unEnglish" :D

Sad for Denmark, they didn't manage at all to play as well as they did in the 1st round, and Sorensen who looked invincible against France, made crucial mistakes. And who knows, made it will eventually be England-Senegal in a semi :D

I can imagine what the English tabloid press is like...I saw "the foot of god" etc after the Argentina game...

Well well... it promised so much and in the end... ah well, it was an exiting game to watch but why o why couldn't that shot from Svensson gone in, it would have been a classic goal... in Sweden anyway... But I think we fell fighting atleast, they tried to win it and didn't wait for penalties to decide it, credit to Sweden for that. Credit to Senegal for some exiting stuff and good luck against Japan or Turkey...however I do want a Japan vs Southkorea final now that Sweden are out :D
It has to be said that Senegal probably deserved to win the match cause they played better for 90 minutes... the agonizing thing is that Sweden I think played better in extra time...ah well now I understand what it felt for the Argentine people...
Go Japan, go nakata... Go Korea..go Kim
Oh and by the way... the southkoreans all have very powerful shots and I heard that it is easier to shot powerfully if you have small feet cause then you can make better contact with the ball and get more of you foot behind the shot... I guess size isn't everything...

I agree that they are playing much more exciting football. Our defence so far has looked good, but until yesterday we were not producing the goals - onr from a corner, and one penalty. We will need to be on good scoring form against Brazil (presuming we meet Brazil). The Brazilians score a lot of goals, but they are also loose enough at the back to concede a few too. What we must take care to do is not sit back on any goal cushion (if we do score) as we appeared to do against Denmark. The Brazilians are more than capable of pulling those back...

LOL! re Beckham :D

LOL! :D That is if we get past Brazil...and who knows? we could even meet Japan. That would be interesting considering the Japanese offer a lot of support to England, there have been many Japanese wearing English shirts! England/Brazil (and with luck) England/Senegal should be interesting games to watch - if you are impartial :D

LMAO! :D
