stupid question...

Post by Snoop Dogg »

This probably sounds stupid but I was wondering how the strongholds for your PC is worked out if it is a dual-classed/multi-class character? is it possible to have more than one stronghold or do you get to choose? If you are dual-classed is it based on what class is higher? current? or what you are at the start of chapter 2?

just wondering as i want to go through the game with a dual-classed character

There is a patch to get multiple strongholds but you generally get the strong hold associated with your first class

If your character is multi-classed or dual-classed, he can only have one stronghold. Which stronghold he gets is determined by which one he gets first. For example, suppose you have a Fighter/Cleric, a Fighter/Thief, a Fighter/Mage, or a Fighter/Druid. If you don't already have a stronghold when you kill the trolls for Nalia, she will offer you the Fighter stronghold; but if you already have a stronghold, she won't offer it to you. The same applies to the Thief stronghold, the Cleric stronghold, the Mage stronghold, and the Druid stronghold. (Paladins and Bards can't be dual-classed or multi-classed.)

There's an easy way to cheat the game and get more than one stronghold. Before the dialogue string takes place in which your character would be offered a stronghold (for example, before Nalia asks you to come outside to talk to her or before you tell the Temple that you have finished the Unseeing Eye quest or before you finish with Lavok or before you save the Druid Grove), all you have to do is reset the Global Variable "PlayerHasStronghold" to 0. You can either use ShadowKeeper or do it with the CLUAConsole command. This only works if your character is the right class, of course. For example, if your character is not a Mage, he won't be offered the Mage stronghold. You get the idea.
