Questions of advanced Alchemy
There are 4 slots, single potion needs only 2 - what are the spare for?
Is it possible to make complex potions other way than mixing components with more than one common effect?
TIA,
L.

Component A has:
Restore Fatigue, Restore Health
Component B has:
Restore Health
Component C has:
Lightning shield, Restore fatigue
Component D has: Lightning shield
Result: potion of Restore Fatigue, Restore Health and Lightning Shield.
Independent components and cross-scheme components do indeed work. I make them all the time.
Edited to add: you just can't put the same ingrediant in two or more slots. But if a property shows up on two or more ingredients in the four slots, it's included in the potions effects.

Cjdevito is correct. What you want to do is *chain effects.* If any two of the four ingredients contain the same effect, it will be added to the final mix.

Well, i put Ash Yam, Bloat - it shows "Fortify Intelligence". Now i add Wickwheat - it should add "Fortify Willpower", byt it doesn't show. Even if i add Scrib Jelly the only thing offered still is "Fortify Intelligence"
Where am i wrong?

you just need 1-4 items to start and a couple of components
See Morrowind Alliance: Herb Index and Morrowind Alliance: Alchemy Basics - or any other site, there are several mentioned on this and other boards.

Unless one goes on a mission that takes your character to varied locations it can be difficult to find vareid enough ingredients, any suggestions for stores of the better selections?

There's a store in Balmora with a nice selection of alchemical ingredients, but its prices are rather high. I personally prefer to steal herbs from crates, and pick 'em from trees and such during my travels.

Hey, it is either a bug or something, but "fortify attribute" effects don't go well with each other. I created potions with up to 3 different effects (ie. restore health, restore mana, and fortify magicka at the same time) , but I was never able to brew a potion with two simple fortify attribute effects.
Maybe a glitch.. I tried int+willpower similar to yours, but haven't tested it with other stats, ie. str+endurance. Maybe those work.

Now,
there're a couple of receipes
Fortify Agility+Fire Shield+Restore Fat.+Fortify Fat. =
Sload Soup+Fire Salts+Scuttle+Hound Meat
I tried to make Fort.Str.+Rest.Health, it usually worked, but there was an unexpected outcome, too, in quite different direction:
Restore Health+Fortify Luck+Fortify Magicka=
Corkbulb Root+Corpus Weepings+Saltrice+Emerald
