Reading this forum i notice Aeries is mentioned alot

i am afraid to say i killed her in the circus...i thought it was a trap.

is she important? can i bring her back?

But no she IS good in TOB though

Ooops! Um..Pretty funny actually. Aerie is an NPC that can join your party. She can be pretty effective but there are certainly other options for you so I wouldn't worry about it. She is the only multiclass cleric/mage, so she can do some neat things, but for someone just starting the game I would probably recommend Anomen as a cleric. He is hanging out at the copper coronet and he is a very annoying guy but a good fighter/cleric. Another good choice would be Jaheira.

In my opinion Aerie SUCKS! She is the most annoying charcter in BG besides Minsc. Her claric skills are crap compared to Anomen or Viconia and Mage-wise you could do better with anyone else. After I met her I wished I killed her at the circus-anything to shut that mouth up-AHHHH-she drove me to the brink of insanity! Maybe I should take some deep breaths. Saving her, though, you do get XP to the best of my memory.

I don't really think she's THAT bad. She has very low hit points, which can be a real problem if you aren't careful, but then as a mage/cleric she can wear a helmet and use a shield so it is possible to get her armor class down pretty far. Give her an item like a girdle to increase strength and she actually can fight pretty well. I've never personally played a game all the way through with her, but I do plan to eventually. Her multiclass gives her more total spells than anyone else in the game.

She has a problem of dying alot, maybe I just suck at using her. I've used Viconia or Anomen as the group cleric, and they're both much better clerics and stay alive much better than she does.

There are certain tricks she can do as a cleric/mage that will help you in some of those tougher fights. Namely, chained healing and/or protection spells. But with Boots of Speed + Ring(s) of Kangaxx + Blackrazor(s), there really isn't all that much need for any healing that can't be done with regen during times where you are no in battle.

I wouldn't be too worried about her unless you're after the super-perfect game where everyone is alive and everything has been seen and experienced. I've "accidentally" killed her too when I backstabbed her three times in a row...whoopsie!

You can only rezz characters in your party. That's alright, you can add her to your next run-through.

Aerie is great, IMO. She's a wonderful second string mage *and* cleric. You can have her memorize the Contingency spell as a mage, cast it, and mix in high level clerical spells. Nobody else can do this in the game.

If you go for high magic parties (I usually do), she's a good one to consider. I've had her in one of my run-throughs, and she was excellent, despite the inability to get the highest level in either of her professions.

Hi, guys, I'm back!!!

Been watching a lot of japanese anime for a while, no game playing and no forum.

Just finished vision of esceflowen the DVD collection.

Anyway, aerie is potentially the best npc in the game.

she has two distinct advantages. by chaining cleric spells, she is very good at killing "unnatural" creatures. think triple holy smites for undead creatures, or tripel bolts of glory once you get spell trigger and can cast it. this is the best way of softening up demons that I know of.

also she is the npc of choice as monster bait. you will notice if you keep her whenver she is in party she gets beat up the most. so give her boots of speed, send her in to a monster filled room and have her lure the monster out to your party ambush.

she is the most interesting romance in Tob, I will not speak further about it here, and she is so full of spunk you just cant resist her. The funniest line in tob is when she tells korgy off for being such a bugger...and he takes it!

viccy is a better cleric, so is anomen, but neither can maximize cleric spell effects by using mage spells to supplimnet like her.

And she is NPC alone capable to cabbage your scrolls and vands by using Vhailor's Helm trick (or exploit, the matter of taste)

Aerie can be very good indeed. Especially if you equip her with robe of the vecna. This will make your priest spells pretty fast. Almost instant gate for example. And of course contingencies with priest spells.
