Ladies & Gentlemen,

I've seen the film twice and I assure you there was a romance scene between Aragorn and Arwen. Just a short one and not clearly justified.

What they're arguing about is that that scene wasn't in the LotR book, but Peter Jackson slipped it in to the film to let the audience members who hadn't read the book know that there was a romance between Aragorn and Arwen.
That should clear up any confusion you have.

IIRC Arwen doesn't even speak untill the third book anyway...I reckon they just wanted to up Liv Tyler in a big way.

When a book --even in a form of trilogy-- is adjusted for the movie industry I don't expect the film to be narrowly bound in the exact order of events as those appear in the book. And I bet that the second film would have a couple of events we meet in the third book. So what?

Just remember Ivory's adaptation of Forster's and Isiguro's books for the big screen (Howard's End & Remains of the Day). His script didn't follow the book's order of events, but this didn't prevent him from making exceptionally good films.

Good book does not mean good film (Even Cowgirls Get The Blues, The Beach), nor does a good film have to be a replica of the book...not sure what my point is, but one golden rule: don't make films out of computer games!

...is probably as good as a BG film could be. Or maybe 'Beverly Hills Bhaalspawn.'

Not to ruin anyone's fun or anything, but these sort of conversations *should* go into SYM. I remember seeing a forum there titled "movies I've seen lately".

Now, I'm done with that. Now, for the good news:

On Elfwood (I trust you all have heard of the website?) I have met a man who is currently trying to complete a script and screenwrite for a Baldur's Gate movie. While I haven't the slightest idea if he will succeed or not, I thought it would be fun just to let you all know.

I'll produce a link to his website based on the idea when I get it.
