SYM Photo Album Dicsussion thread.
All this talk of climbing is making me really upset!
I could have gone and climbed Kili and the Andes in Peru if I would have followed through with two World Challenge expeditions, the cost was astronomical but I could have afforded it, I would've had sponsorship and fundraising, but alas, my country called and I couldn't refuse...

That's sad Nippy but there will be other chances. Lots of people climb, and in the UK there are good and very well organised clubs, I'm sure you will get new opportunities. In the meanwhile, you could exercise, lots of prep is needed for the big peaks.

A tank, i would have presumed that would be too big to take up a mountain, plus it isn't really hiking then, is it? (sorry i do love the English language for it's inconsistency ) Doesn't one feel the pressure, what is the average height from sea level in Sweden?Originally posted by C Elegans
You could bring a tank in case somebody get mountain sickness, but normally it's enough to acklimatise to the height, for instance by staying at a base camp 1 night.
Well time will tell to be sure...Yes, and also important learning both about yourself and how people work in relationships.
I was actually going to ask you whether you get bored of analysing everything and whether the prelimenary work gets annoying...i guess you answered my questionSo far I've been very lucky
Oh well i guess i come below medium then I am not sure how much i could walk in a day, but i know it isn't that much So getting one with nature is the key? Sounds very zenNo, I was really thinking of a general population medium, medium as in hiking on fairly flat ground 12-15 miles in a day with plenty of breaks to rest and eat. If you have no problem with the comfort aspects, I think a person with medium fitness level can experience most of the IMO best places on earth Knowing and understanding the nature you are in, is more important than physical fitness.
If i recall correctly it is Crib Goch, truly amazing from the photo's I will ask themWould that be beside Snowdon, the Crib Goch? I did a great ridge walk when I was in Snowdonia a few years ago, I am considering to bring my hubby to do it this year. Please ask your parents if they remember the name of this ridge!
It Should also give me a chance to make a proper breakfast for myself instead of coffee and waterSounds great! I should have exercised a little myself, but alas, work takes most of my time right now.
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

@CE: Awww... Doc... you're making me blush . I used to do hiking (not climbing) mountains back home, and the nearest thing to climbing was scaling an almost 90 degree "wall" . I remember too having to be wary of leeches and plants that would give you rashes. Of course there are mosquitoes too to contend with.
@Chanak: Thanks for the complement, pare. As for the lampshade, I had to take it off...
@Ysh: Your new babe is gorgeous looking... but not as gorgeous as the "new mother" ... especially when she's in leather!
