I have a question about Baldurs Gate II and can't get a human at Interplay.com to respond. I hope this is the right link to get some help. My party has completed nearly all of the quests for Chapter 3, including all of the Shadowmaster quests. We have been dispatched to the Graveyard District to kill the vampires, Bodhi, et al. My dialogue and journal indicate that a mage w/ golem should appear to help me get through the blue doors. Yet, no one has appeared. I have search inside and out of the tombs and no mage has appeared. I have gone back to Aran and he just tells me to go to the Graveyard District. Because of that response, I figure this quest is not time-based (I did stop to resupply and heal before going to the Graveyard.) Am I missing a "trigger" or not looking in the right place for the mage? It appears I won't be able to complete the game unless I get thru those doors... so any help would be appreciated.

The mage should be near the door at the northern section of the area underneath the Graveyary district, the area with the Egyptian like statues and heads along the wall.
If he's not there, try the following. Activate CLUAConsole - go to the directory where you have installed BG2, open the file baldur.ini and add in the line Debug Mode=1 under [Program Options], save and then load your save game.
Go to the area underneath the Graveyard District, press CTRL + SPACE and type in the following, pressing ENTER after each.:
- CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("AranJob","GLOBAL",3)
- CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("FindLassal","AR0801",0)
Wait for a while, if nothing happens, save it and quit. Unzip the file attached and put it into the Override directory of BG2. Load up the one you've just saved, and the mage and golem should appear after a while.
Oh, and welcome to GameBanshee.

Thanks Sabre........ I tried what you suggested (both of them) and neither have worked. The file downloaded nicely and I placed in the override directory, but still no luck. I even tried rebooting to see if that would make a difference. Nada. I presume you are positive that is the correct file....?
Still waiting on that &%&$#!! mage.....

You've already joined Aran--right? And performed his quest down by the dock. He's asked you to go to the double doors under the graveyard, and said you'd be met there. You haven't done this before, gone back, and tried to redo the quest again--correct?

Hi Fable
Yep... joined Aran and did all of his sub quests. Then I was dispatched by him to go kill the vampires with Bodhi. Got supplies and healing etc. before going to the Graveyard District. Went into the tombs and proceeded to the blue door area..... ended up just standing around, so I searched throughout the tombs and then outside. I have played BGII before, but on the first go-through I sided with Bodhi and killed the Shadow Thieves. Thought I would try it from a different perspective this time but have ended up stuck.

Okay; have you added on any patches, and/or mods? If so, which ones?
If you've just put in place the standard patches, I can only think that the game has somehow screwed up a flag that places the two figures who open the door. But some of the mods might also mess things up a bit, since they're not all compatible with one another.

You did unzip the file right? The file that is needed to be placed into the Override folder is called AR0801.BCS. When you put the file in, did you load up the savegame after you typed in CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("FindLassal","AR0801",0)? If not, try typing that code in and wait.
If that is what you did, then get this file, unzip it and put the file S-Bodhi.BS into the Scripts directory of BG2. Load up your savegame, go to the area underneath the Graveyard. Now select one of your character and go to the Record page, click on the Customize button and then select Scripts. Scroll to the bottom until you find Custom(S-Bodhi.BS) - or something similar. Select this and click Done and go back to the game screen. With party AI on, wait for a while, the mage should appear. After that just go back and reselect the script that you've been using for that character, or None if you haven't been using any.
