Plot jam in Urst Natha

I found a weird bug, now I'm trying to get around it. I'm on my 2nd time thru the game so I knew that the magical rope that I bought from the guy was a trick, but I didn't really play it thru last time so... I bought the rope, and went straight to Desirex's tower, I killed him very fast because I managed to get a power word silence on him before his protections went up. Then I began to loot. As soon as I looted the gems I was teleported to the little movie sequence with Jaraxle where he tells you to GET the gems, which I had JUST looted. Apparently the game doesn't check for this and I was sent back with the warning to get the gems or be exposed. I went back in the tower, looted whatever was left and when I went to the upper level of the tower Phaere appeared, knew I was a surfacer and attacked me. From this point the whole city was after my a**, so I fought my way to the eggs in the temple, got those, but no Matron Mother in sight, now the city is locked down, there's no matron mother, no summoning ceremony and the game won't let me leave the zone. I think, since I do have the dragon eggs, I could get back on track if I had the area code for either the underdark or Adalson's (the silver dragon) cavern. Anyone know it? In the meantime I moved the party to watcher's keep... interesting side note... if you DON'T leave the underdark properly... your drow equipment doesn't disintigrate... pretty kewl having sets of +5 plate and elven chain.

did you have the gems on you when you were brought back to the tower?
if so, you could try putting them bac and picking them up again.
or just go back to a previous save and beat him again.
