(Spoiler) valygar's quest

i really really need the help.

i decided to meet valygar at his house when i felt like doing the planar sphere. i finally got to his quest after doing many others and decided to take him into my party.

my question would be: does it make a difference if i take valygar into the planar sphere? will something different happen if i don't take him in? cuz i was wondering if i could just kill him and take his body to the sphere and open it for Jaheira to get the xp instead of taking valygar in and him getting the xp. i was also wondering if valygar is a better fighter than Jaheira. which should i incorporate into the party. i've done the Harper Hold quest but there's still one more quest for Jaheira to do which is the REAL Harpers come and tell her she's a good person. so should i keep Jaheira until that happens and then which for valygar or should i just keep Jaheira.

i really really need the help.

*POSSIBLE SPOILER*

If you take Valygar to the sphere you only get couple conversations more->him talking with the necromancer whatshisname nothing more.

Jaheira is in my opinion better in a party than V because she gets better ac, and can summon bears, elementals etc. to your aid.

Valygar is "fragile" when it comes to tanking, but his good in his profession: sneaking and backstabbing+his family armor is pretty damn good studded leather, my half-orc barbarian used it a long long time(how he was able to use it, i don't know)

i say kill him and take his armor. my berserker/mage dual liked his armor just fine, and you can cast in it too! baldurdash fixes may correct this oversite tho.

yeah but the armor and the sword are both only usable by valygar. how do u get to equip the items to you?

and is that all? all u get are a couple of extra conversations with valygar and that's it? i just want to make sure.

and before i take Jaheira into the sphere i'd like to know what weapon she can use to dish out the dmg considering i've been u umar hills, d'Arnise Hold, windspear, and all the towns inside atlahka. she profiecent in simitar and club. all i have her using is a regular club and a regular simitar. are there any other better weapons i can equip her with?

A couple of Spears I found in the Underdark are pretty sick when Jahiera uses them.... I like spears on her the most.

dont' u need profieciency's into the spear class in order for it to be effective? i have profeiciency into club and simitar.not spear
