Problem with plot in Brynnlaw

Post by FoilFencer »

I am having problems. I have gone through the asylum and returned to Brynnlaw. I was planning on taking the ship to leave the city. I have acquired the horn, but whenever I deliver it the problems begin. The screen fades out like usual, but when it fades in I am still in the inn, but on a different wall. A conversation begins and when it ends Saemon Havarian is standing there and says that he is busy. I thought there was supposed to be a fight scene, but I am still in the inn.

I have the latest TOB patch installed and I could not find any patch or any post that pertained to this. Any ideas?

If all else fails I think you can cheat-warp to the map you're supposed to go to. Not sure what its number is... Keep posting if you're really stuck.

Ah yes, a common problem. Happened to me twice and I could never figure out how to get out of it. I ended up missing out on the underwater city and took Irenicus' portal in the asylum instead.

Foilfencer,

I had a problem in that area also. You need to find saemon outside the inn. If you talk to the saemon inside the inn, you lose the plot line and indeed miss out on the sahaguin city. I don't remember the thing with the horn so perhaps elaborate and maybe I'll remember more details. I believe there is a way around your problem aside from just hacking in the area.
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

go and talk to the saemon at the bottom right of brynnlaw, at the docks. There have been cases where the one Saemon stayed in the inn and another was spawned by the dock

I always have Saemon in the inn when he gives the quest and outside (SE part of docks) when my party is back with the horn and ready to leave. Both times you have to initiate the dialog, though.

This has happened to me, but Saemon outright disappeared altogether. I hadn't realized and quicksaved. My last save was about 40 days (in-game) before. A reminder to keep regular saves other than quicksaves!
