Post by Draven »

I have been playing Shane a hafling fighter theif that I have soloed through Bg1.. In Bg1 bowmen rocked but in Bg2 all the arrows do crap damage.. My goal in the end is to pull off a Greater whirlwind attack and assination in tob.. Untill then what is the best bow in bg2 I have the bow that give's you the extra attack per round now but the damage is so low. What is the best bow to use short or long.... Any coments are welcome..

Try the "items" page from the main BG2 menu on Gamebanshee. It lists *all* the available bows and crossbows, along with their stats.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Well, you can have both of those abilities with a fighter/thief but you can't activate them both at the same time because each only lasts one round and you can only activate one ability in a round.

As far as bows go, the strongarm composite long bow does good damage but you need a 19 str, also the giant hair crossbow is pretty good. The fire tooth cross bow at watcher's keep is good if you use bolts of lightning or biting in it, it does a lot of damage.
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....

the best bow by far (i think) is the Short Bow of Gesen, lots of dammage, no arrows needed, fast fire rate and extra electric too.
u can kill almost every thing with it in SoA even Iron Goloms.
crosbows are nice but not as fast as short bows.

tansheron's bow is a good one to get, go do the tradesmeet quests as soon as possible. no arrows needed and it's a +3.

The best bow was in bg1 The Eagle bow. Unfortunately they took it out and it is not in bg2 or ToB. Ít is in SK though so if you don't have a game with it from bg1 then you can get it that way. I can recommend it if you like doing loads of damage from a distance.
It is the shortbow equivalent of the sling of seeking as it adds strength bonus to the damage.
It is a shortbow +2.

Jake, old buddy, think

increased acuity
greater whirlwind
assassinate....

all three should count as spells so should cast without waiting for the neginning of the round so you might get a few seconds of assassination arrows of doom!!!
They call me Darth...

?!?

It's like this...

When you perform a "special action" (cast a spell, use an item or activate an ability), you cannot do so again for 6 seconds (counted from when you start the action).

This has completely nothing to do with attacking, which is measured on a separate timer.
