Not really.

If you are willing to reduce your character to level 1, tone down your stats, throw out your equipment and re-choose your class incase you have choosen a kit.

Eventhough it says in BG2 that you can move your character to NwN, it will not be done "right" seeing as the game and rules(3.ed D&D) can handle the BG2 levels.

So basically - all you get to keep is the name :)

me thinks she might have meant NPC's

and no they wont

i will miss jan :(
Ancient times they had no statistics so they had to fall back on lies

"I'm invinceable"
"your a loony"

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

Then it is as I stated in my post :)

Yes - but starting as a level 1, stats altered down to 3.ed rules, no equiptment and class changed to pure 3.ed classes (no kits).

I'm quite sure the option of importing BG2 characters into NWN was completely removed... correct me if im wrong.

Don't know if it was removed or not - have not had time to look deeply into NwN lately - but even if it is ( or isn't) it will be similar to that seeing all you can keep is your name and race :D

I bet the decision about importing your characters from BGII to NWN had more to do with the legal wrangling over intellectual rights involved in Atari taking over from Interplay than it did with rules incompatibility. I don't know the history exactly but I remember something about a lawsuit between Black Isle studios and Interplay or something like that. Black Isle - the division of Bioware that developed BG, BG II, Icewind Dale, and Torment - doesn't have their logo on NWN. Sadly, I think that dispute is the cause of many of the wonderful things the Infinity engine games had that I have found lacking in NWN. It also means that Minsc isn't likely to make a cameo appearance in the streets of Neverwinter...

The lawsuit is because Black Isle developed the Infinity Engine and Interplay used it in Icewind Dale without permission or giving any credit or money to Black Isle for the use.

And to stay on topic no you can't bring the characters from BG to NWN.

Interesting. Well I guess they've reconciled their differences on some level because the new Icewind Dale II coming out in August has Interplay/BioWare/Black Isle all over it. Actually, so do my IWD and HoW boxes.
