Is it possible to free ALL slaves?

Is it possible to free ALL slaves?

Whilst visiting Sadrith Mora (and several other places) I stumbled upon numerous slaves from the beast races (Argonians and Khajiit). Since I personally dislike slavery (AND my char is an Argonian) I would like to attempt to free these slaves as well as those poor chaps in the dungeons.

The slaves from the dungeons one can free easily, usually I find 1-2 keys within the dungeon - but how do I free the slaves in the official market - or the ones in the Gateway Inn - or those in remote farms? Is it even possible?

(and - will it change something in the game?)

Do not know about all, but there was a mentioning about additional possibilities if you free many enough. Do not remeber if it was on this board ot Morowind's one, though.

The freeing of the slaves is an unneccessary side quest. In Ebonheart there is a group called the Twin Lamps, the more slaves you free, the more they are willing to talk to you.

Most all of the slaves have a master with a key nearby, and you can set them free with the key, some slaves can not be freed, such as the slave market slaves.

Your best chance at freeing the slaves are those in caves, mines, and wandering escapees.

No, sadly you cannot free all the slaves. Many, yes, but more remain without matching keys -- and for some reason you can neither pick those locks nor use the skeleton key item on them.

The worst and most numerable group of slaves that cannot be freed are the "cattle" in the various vampire strongholds.

I'd still wonder if somebody would dare to stop THE hero of Morrowind going against slavery. Especially in Sadrith Mora, where (s)he is/may be Hortator of house Telvanni after some time and the council ain't exactly - able to speak up against it. By that time the character is a well known member of society an a rather important political factor within several guilds and cities and such as well.

It saddens me that there seems to be no other option, the "cattle" slaves within the vampire dungeons have NO hope of liberation either (there simply is NO key and the skeleton key does not work and You can't pick the lock since there is NO option - neither by spell nor mundane). :(

I wonder - can this be true? Should a hero be contempt with freeing those he easily can get the key for? :confused:

In my opinion this calls for another quest plugin - IF it is possible, that is. I for instance would feel better about it. It would have a real goal to strive for - though mayhaps not a lucrative one when it comes to money.

And - personally - I don't feel that it is an "unneccessary side quest" - even IF my character does NOT get a wondrous artifact or oodles of mun' or even reputation with some traders for it - I'd still do it, must be the moral choice I usually opt for.

there could be more to the quest than that.
It could be made so that you had to talk all of the council members of each house to passing a law outlawing slavery!
then they would give you a key that could be used to free every slave.
slave owners could fight or submit ;)
(I hope they fight)

someone had the same idea before and is looking for some ideas along that lines and of course feedback! He uses the Twin Lamps and furthers them with more quests, I will send him Your proposal with the council and I may have one or two ideas, too
