A chest that wont open

There is this chest in the bottom of Helm hold that i can not open. A huge trap was on it and my Tomi couldn´t fix it so I had to step in to it. Then I try to open it and it will just say "locked" and no word from Tomi stating that he vill have a go at it. i examined it and it seemed to be a extraodinary chest. But how do I open it?

I remember that chest as I just did chapter one as a Mage. None of my followers will attempt to open the chest, but they do have the skill. I know because I possessed my Sprite familiar and opened that chest myself! My sprite wouldn't do it. I had to do it myself! *grumble*

I don't know what was so special. All that I got from there is a +1 dagger.

I remember that chest. I could get it open no matter what. I triggered the trap with my familiar (level 7 sorcerer) and then tryed to open it. It was locked so I tried to get the Barbarian henchman to bash it but he wouldn't. I wasted 4 fireballs, 7 magic missles, and 5 melf's acid arrows before I realized it took 0 damage. I don't know what was up so I reloaded and went on without it.

Must be a bug. Same thing happened to me with Tomi.

I can remember only one chest in Helms Hold was trapped so bad I couldnt disarm it, so I blew it up with a longbow and fire arrows.
Im near the end of chapter 2 and till now all chest with special traps I couldnt disarm ( lvl 12 thief, 24 dex, max disable trap skill + bonus from Items ) could be destroyed with fire arrows.
I think this chests cant be disarmed no matter how much skill you have, they must be destroyed.

i've also come across various chests that say *weapon inneffective* etc.... when u try to bash it open. (and of coarse Tomi is no help...........damn halflings) anyway, if you're a fighter class the best way to accomplish this is to "overpower" your character in a sense. I found if just bashing it doesn't work, use things to bring up your strength. I took 2 levels of Barbarian with my fighter in order to get the rage skill. So anytime it says i can't open a chest, i simply use Barbarian Rage, and put Power Attack mode on. When he critical hits, he does at least 1 point of damage. (now that i have 28 strength, alot more than 1 hehe) anyway, it's a tedious process but it works.
