I wonder if I should download ShadowKeeper to get more out of the game. Thing is, I´m really "overprotective" about my game and wondered if it would crash anything in it?

Well that depends on how editting you wish to do to your game.

However any changes you do make means that SK automatically makes a seperate saved file.

Im using Shadowkeeper now to for quite some time....and I actually like it.

SK is userfriendly.....as long as you dont edit too much all at ones, cause then it is possible that the game doesnt even load.
It makes a new savegame and if you got a selfmade item u can easily import it in the game with SK.....a child can do the loundry

Yep.
I remember using it in TOB, to change Imoen's avatar to that of a mage ....pardon, Arch-mage

I just downloaded it, and I find it really great! Not that I just "went for the gold" by beefing up my chars or anything, but it just gives you loads of opportunities to mix, f.x. your spellcaster´s abilities. Being able to cast a simulacrum from the beginning of the game is just too cool!
