Worst moment in the game?

Post by Bloodstalker »

ok, I like the best moment thread but where in the game did you just beat the hell out of your keyboard? Mine was when I beat Firkragg after HOURS of trying only to see him fall and my game screen minimize. Napster had tried to connect to its server and I went to restore my game and it was DEAD!!!!!!!! Took 2 more hours to beat hom again

That's gotta suck. :D

I HATED it when I spent hours after hours after hours trying to beat those mindflayer rooms in the sewers... and all I got was the stinking wand of wonder! I mean, it doesn't do anything! I only used it once, and it killed Firkraag, but then I had to kill him AGAIN because I wanted his stuff, not the dust from his body!!!

Oh well :)

Worst moment? The big battle between Irenicus and his clones of you on one side, and your party plus the magical loonies. That was the greatest point at which I wished Bioware had used, if not a 3D rotatable engine, at least a zoom effect which would allow me to get a closer view. What a mess. :(

losing imoen after the 1st dungeon.

she was all decked out too,(since she was the only mage in the party) all the mage stuff & full set of healing potions, & she scribed all the scrolls in the place.

i don't remember if she took off w/ all my stuff or not, i restarted on the spot.
:(

Well from BG mine was fighting Sarevok. We struck him down! Just as the cheer began to leave my lips....a doom guard struck down my 1HP PC from behind!!! The game counts that as a loss *sniff*

How I cried :)

In BG2.....I dunno. Going after Immy in my first run through badly underequipped and finding chapters 4 and 5 hell on Earth :) . Try beating Balor when you got diddly squat :)

Starting the game to find out my main character loses all his equipment and loses his exp. I used an exp cap remover for BGI and I had 500k exp, and it went down all the way to 89k =(

In BG2, when fighting Firkraag, my game always has choppy performence, making an exciting dragon fight a pain in the a$$. Also, when I fianlly defeated him (after 4 hours), Minsc was killed just before and his protrait disappeared, making him unraisable. :( I went on without him. The only problem was I encountered a harper/elf bug at the beginning of Chapter 6, making the game unfinishable. I completed Chap 6, but Eldan was still hostile because of those damn harpers. I had no savegame prior to chap 6. There I was, with about 180 hours down the drain. Boy was I pissed. Thank god for Baldurdash, preventing this bug from happening again.

Yeah that battle was a mess... I had no idea what was happening first time I played the game. I saw other characters that had my name and I thought it must have been a bug. I felt lucky to have survived.

Yeah, when one of the prisoners casts timestop, I can see it saying stuff like Tiax(or someone else) casts magic missile: Jan. I thought that those bastards have turned on me, so I attacked them back. That made the battle even more difficult. I have no idea how my PC managed to survive. All my NPC's were dead after this battle.
But other than that I found this battle quite enjoyable.

During my last game with my Jester PC, the worst moment had to be ditching Jan Jansen in Spellhold in order to make room for Imoen. Not only was he decked out with really cool gear that I had gone out of my way to make sure I got/bought for him, but I had put alot of thought into developing him as he was my only thief! Plus I don't think I can count the number of times I laughed so hard I was almost crying at his stories (Ano and the dung, Keldorn and his underwear, etc.) It was a real letdown picking up boring, quiet Imoen and having to drop Jan!
I think I'm still bitter...

Dunno about worst, but definitely a bad moment came fighting the mindflayers in the sewers for the first time (in Ch 6). After a number of frustrating defeats and reloads, I'd finally gotten to the Hammer of Thunderbolts, the last component I needed for Crom Faer.

Minsc was still confused from an umber hulk or something, and was taking swipes at my (near-full health) characters. No big deal, thought I.

Then the screen went gray as my PC crumpled to the ground. That's about when I remembered Minsc was wielding the Vorpal Sword.

while i was fighting the mage she casted gate and that men fried the vampire, things where good but before my fire elemental could kill the mage she mind controled him and when my sling stone killed her i didn't thought about the elemental and got fried by my one beast

luckely i could just catch the pc monitor before it hit the ground :D :D
But men !! was i pissed!!

A worst moment/part could happen with Sarevok in throne of bhaal, having him join your group, it's straight from something like the transformers, (a cartoon series, with big robots, on planet earth with the good side and bad side) where the good and bad forces rally against some new menacing evil. They should get it right though.

The worst moment? Contigency and chain contigency! Maybe there's something wrong with my config, but I could only use spells up to lv5 for both of them. I'd love to put greater malison and two horrid wilting... (or greaer malison, blindness then disintegrate) and the result would be fantastic! I worked for 2 hours and got nothing for it... maybe it was the game engine that set the spell limit. Anyone got a solution?

Contingency you are allowed one spell level per every three levels of the caster, up to a maximum of 18th level, or 6th level spells.

Chain contignecy is a 9th level spell, which means it is only found in the game on scrolls, or opponents using it. You may select three spells of any level to trigger when a stated condition occurs (ie stoneskin, mirror image, and project image cast on caster when hitpoints are at 25% etc).

Semms Firkragg is popular on this thread...I also had a point in the game where Jan died and I resurrected him....but his gear was nowhere to be found. That has happened like two or three times with different characters. After losing Keldorns Holy Avenger and having to go back (WAYYYYY back) to an earlier save , I started saving often.
