ok the user is here, run, all you roleplayers, run for your lives!!!!
kinda getting tired of morrowind, will soon have joined every house and guild, and after my 3 or so super cheeses, kinda getting bored....
thinking of getting nwn, later, but is it capable of being played turn based???!!!
(most important question, as i hate real time)
any editors out for it?
(yes, bun bun may be resurrected in nwn!!!)
so far every one likes it, i just upgraded my p3 with a geforce 4 ti 4600, you can stop drooling now, your keyboard is getting soggy, so it should play well.............................

Yes - in single player - but you have to press pause yourself - have not found an automatic pause like in BG (haven't look actually).Originally posted by UserUnfriendly

In Multiplayer it depends on the settings. The DM can set the game so anybody or only him can pause the game world.

NwN comes with a massive toolset that will allow you to create complex adventures yourself.

I would truly welcome one such editor myself. I tried to change portrait yesterday but couldn't figure out how to do it. And I'm not sure all those Skill Points in Heal are really worth it...
I'm pretty sure User is after a NeverKeeper here... It's needed for all this bunny business of his.Originally posted by Xandax

Life seems short considering how long you will be dead.

Buy it User, its way better then Morrowind, and the fact you can also play it online gives it a good long time motivation.
But more important for you, finding cheese in NWN is really a challenge, not like MW where cheese was implementet by stupid gamedesigners

I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.
Parry is one of the best skills in the game! Come on I use parry mode almost exclusively with my ranger/rogue and take very little damage. It is much more useful if you use two weapons though as you can only parry as many attacks as you can make in a round.
It is best to be thought a fool and stay silent, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Takes a while. You can only make one riposte attack per round so it does take a lot longer to kill them, but then again its a lot harder for them to kill me in the process, but then I have gloves that give bonuses to parry as well as the improved parry feat so I always parry as many attacks per round as I can. Other than that just put on parry mode and set back and watch the fun. I like to zoom in and watch the fights because it looks so cool. I would only recommend the skill for those who have good dex and dont wear heavy armor though. Armor check penalty applies to the parry skill so your warrior in full plate with 12 dex isnt going to parry very often.

It could be pretty effective if you Henchman is using a ranged weapon from a distance as well...Originally posted by Mathurin

hmmm...challenging cheese,
sounds good...i mean, after i posted the super multi stage boosted jump cheese, i sorta lost interest...
in mw, using the spell "jump" i figured out ways to boost your avatars jump capacity so it can jump about 4% of the WORLD map in a single jump, and i discovered how to make super class weapons, totally bypassing the game designers limits they put in on enchanting weapons, to create "keening" class axes and long bows...
YAWN!!!!
BUT IS THE BUGGER TURN BASED???!!!!!

eacht round (so you could call it round-bases) takes 6seconds, but everyone can do things at the same time, and you can always walk.
Also in the MP-mode there is in most games no option to pause.

Sorry, no autopause. At least not yet...
Easier said than done. Even though I have light armor, high DEX, maxed parry, improved parry, etc...whenever I use it the monsters just go around me and hack up Tomi. Which is good AI, I suppose. Problem is, even when I set myself up blocking a doorway, the continual (and automatic) sidestepping in combat eventually dislodges him. Which kind of simulates being "pushed back," I suppose. But the end result is that I hardly ever find myself using the parry skill, if I want to win, that is.That it is. With Sharwyn or Boddynock firing away it gets easy. Just make sure the monsters stay engaged with you instead of going off on whoever is shooting from range.

Oh, I see. I can see how it would come in handy, then. But what about the bosses? Since they are higher level than you, they have a higher attack roll, so I usually find that their attacks get through anyway. But then again, I've never found gauntlets of parry +6...that might help more than a bit.

NWN isn't BG2, it has different strenghts, weaknesses and rules - the party aspect is missing, but it's a character designer's dream.
You want a Paladin/Sorc/Rogue? Or a Wizard/Monk/Cleric? Maybe a Barbarian/Rogue/Druid? Here you go!
The possibilities are pretty endless without using tools, altough I'd wish for a NeverKeeper too, just to check some things out.
