A question of timeline
Silly question really but its tied in with a module I want to write. Is the neverwinter night events set before or after the Bhaal spawn saga? Does anyone know? I would say just after since time of trouble was during 1360 and Neverwinter events are set during 1373. More like a year or two after the Bhaal spawn saga. But I am not sure. So help please.

Well you are correct about the Neverwinter Nights events going on during the year 1373 DR. BUt I have never heard of the Bhaal spawn saga. So if you know the year those happened then you got it. Sorry I am of no help.

@Datt: He means the events of Baldur's Gate 1/2.

I am sorry that I have no idea of this Bhaal spawn saga. There are many, many references to some kind of "blood war" in the planes. Check the portals in chapter 2e in the Host Tower and chapter 2e in the high captains castle. Those imps babble constantly about the blood wars. If you avoid the fighting then they fight each other.

No, no the blood wars is somthing totally different.
The Bhaal spawn saga are the events of Baldur's gate 1 and 2 and throne of Bhaal. If you pick up and read the books in Never winter about the time of trouble than you know a bit about the Bhaal spawn saga, Bhaal being one of the gods who was killed during the time of trouble. In a nutshell before bhaal died he spawned a number of children of all races (elves, humans, half-elves, dragons, fire gaints, gnomes, dwarves etc.) and they pretty much battled it out for their father's crown so to speak. Its a little more complicated than that of course. Anyhow at the end of the Baldur's gate series (throne of bhaal) you PC has the chance to become a god or give up that part of him/her that is from the now dead god and become truly mortal so to speak.
I asked the question because I wanted to write a module that short of tied the two together. Basicly after the PC in neverwinter returns from the astral pocket he/she is invited by Lord Nasher to rest a bit in NeverWinter. The PC of course takes up the offer. But shortly after is approached by a priest of Tyr who asks that since the PC is from the south he/she is no doubt aware of the Bhaal spawn sage. You can answer yes or no and depending on your choice either get a long lecture on history or not. But what it boils down to is that the priest informs you that after the PC from Baldur's gate ascended to godhood she (since mine was a girl) did some spring cleaning on her father's former realm and cast down to Faerun some very magical items that though not usable by all can be very deadly in the wrong hands. So basicly he asks you to gather these items so that the priests of Tyr can keep them safe and away from evil. But after you gather the first item you are approached by a representative of the arcane brotherhood who tells you that the arcane brotherhood is deeply interested in these relics of the gods and would like to employ you in getting them. If you are evil you can of course always accept. Well there you go that's my idea on a neverwinter module and why I wanted to know the time difference between neverwinter and Baldur's gate.
