optix and celestial fire

how can you use optix's knock ability. i have tried allmost everything but nothing seems to work.
can you use celestial fire? if you can then how?

That's never worked, as far as I know.

EDIT: Bah, should have made it clear I was referring to Optix.

To answer the Celestial Fire question is a bit spoilerish;

You can't use it the first time you get it.
The second time you may miss it and even if you get it you need to be Lawful Good to use it.
