Great Commercials

Post by Weasel »

Anybody seen the new Diet Mountian Dew commercial with the golf cart? :D :D :D

Any other commercials that are remembered?

"Where's the beef" (Beaten to death)
"Wassup" (Beaten to death)

The M & M's ads. They use to be hilarious, especially the one about the new blue ones. "They've even got B.B King singing the blues" :D But the recent ones, search for a new colour is kind of lame...

My favourite adverts ever (sorry, none of your crappy American words here :p ) are the old Boddingtons ones, with Jack Dee and hordes of penguins. I don't know whether they made it to foreign shores, but all you Brits must remember them. I LMAO every time I saw them...

Those were classic, i think Dee himself made those adverts so good :)

I used to like the old Churchill ones "Oh yes" :)

The adverts for pretty much any alcoholic beverage are good, plus the Dr Pepper ones are also excellent.

LMAO! :D My 4y/o stops playing when these ads come on - she knows them word for word  she does a great impersonation too :D

I liked the Boddies ones, also the Guinness and Stella ads are good too. My current favourite is the Carling one where the girlfriend accidentally spills the lager on the table. The boyfriend - not wanting to see it go to waste, licks the coffee table clean. Then the girlfriend proceeds to spill lager around the home for the poor bloke to lick clean (the toilet ack! :D )

Hm.. I really liked the Mountain Dew commercial where the guy is headbutting this ram.. they had a special on Animal Planet once where they showed how they did it. They had the guy with, like, rope attached or something, and he would run, and then they'd jerk him back. The ram was digitally added later. ^_-

As far as Mountain Dew ads go, I also liked the one with the businessman who tries to steal the cab from the little old lady, who grabs him, throws him out onto the sidewalk, then nails him with his briefcase. Heh.

I liked the one with the Crocodile Hunter, for FedEx.. y'know, the one with the most venomous snake in the world?

The only other commercial that comes to mind immediately is the "Dumass" job interview one for root beer. A&W or Mug. Dunno. Doesn't really matter.

"Dude your getting a Dell"

How about..

"Can you hear me now? (pause three seconds) Can you hear me now?"

I like the Kevin Bacon MasterCard ads where he does the "six degrees of separation" thing while writing a check. It's a very clever ad and it's good to see His Baconness taking part in some self-effacing humour.

My favourite Super Bowl ad was only on once or twice, but last year's E*Trade "Money Out the Wazoo" ad was really, really funny. It's a shame they pulled it.

Oh.. I also really liked the one for the credit card, where the guy loses his wallet in the jungle but his buddies tell him not to worry about it because there's not another human for miles.. then it cuts to a bunch of chimpanzees having a wild party with stuff they bought with his credit card.. then they have a snake that hisses "What'sssssss... in -your- wallet?"

The "What's in your wallet?" commercials in general are pretty cool.. that's just the one they've been showing recently. I do sorta remember one about a bunch of viking berserkers that are on a rampage, but something about someone having that credit card prevents them from looting and rioting and pillaging and they're all disappointed and throwing their helmets on the ground and such. ^_^

The Dell guy is pretty cool. The "Can you hear me now?" guy might have been sorta funny at first but is now just really annoying. I figure that once those commercials end, he'll be asked "Can you hear me now?" by other people for the rest of his life.

I like the ones for Mike's Hard Lemonade, but the one with the guy who grows an extra evil head is somewhat unsettling. *shrug*

Oh... the "Life is best told..." ones for Miller Lite are good. Like the guy who tells his girlfriend that he doesn't think they should get married.. right before she was going to tell him she won the 63 million dollar lottery. Or the guy that hitches a ride with a truck driver when this evil ventriloquist puppet thingy appears out of nowhere and starts saying "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!", at which point he bails out of the moving truck. Stuff like that.
